Hi there, The information here is fantastic. But it is generally for the big cities, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth etc. By any chance would there be anybody who could give average living costs for smaller cities? We are moving to Albury and trying to compare costs is very hard. We are a couple with an 8 year old boy. Hubbie will be on a 457 visa. Thanks a million, Sian x
Hey guys and gals, 22 days after putting the visa application in, I got it back accepted! Now the rush starts, I've applied for a bank account, so that's done, have a work start date in Sydney for 7th Sept and need to get my stuff over there. The other half has her brother in Sydney so at least we have an address...I'm only looking to ship about 30 or 40 kgs worth of stuff over as we rent in London at the mo. Anyone shipped over light goods and what's the best company to go with? I might be pushing it here, but a price ££ would be welcome too  Adam
Hi All, Just got quotes in from 3 of the big shipping companies for cubic feet of 275-350. This ranged from £1650 to £1980 all inc bar insurance. This is roughly the contents of a 4 bed house without most of the furniture. i.e. just pots, pans, toys, ornaments, couple of chests, one double bed, books, one chest of drawers and 2 kids bikes. HTH
Hi folks We are hoping to be taking smaller items with us (not too much in the way of furniture aprt from one tv cabinet) but mainly personal effects, dvd's cd's photos and toys etc..So I was hoping that someone may be able to recommend a packing company. Cheers! Mandy x :cute:
