  1. Hello, my partner and I have been living in Sydney for a year now. We're looking at buying a car very soon and wondered if anyone can spell out for us what you need to do in terms of rego, insurance, pink slips, green slips etc. We've done a lot of research so far, so have some understanding of the basics, but it seems to be very complex compared to the UK. Is rego like the UK's MOT, or is this simply a registration of the car in your name - and is this the pink slip? Green slip I understand to be a basic third party type of insurance, that covers you for injury and/or damage caused to the other vehicle. Then you also need to get further, more comprehensive insurance, is this correct? Also, do we need to have our licences converted to Australian licences? Hope someone can help us navigate the motoring minefield. Thanks in advance. Kate and David
  2. Hi Everyone, We've got our 17 visa and validated them. I'm applying for my 7 month old daughters visa shortly so we can all go together. On the 101 checklist it states that I need to provide pay slips from a current employer or books signed off by an accountant. Trouble is I have been unemployed for 6 months due to redundancy(well, self employed to pay the bills and avoid claiming off the state) but I don't yet have an accountant and couldn't supply employers pay slips. What should I do? Cheers, Steve.
  3. Hey can someone help me here whos been through the paper process of the Vetassess stage. Did you send all 100+ wageslips from your employer or did you send something else which would surfice P60 etc Thanks

    Salary Slips and Bank Statement

Hi, For work experience, is it required to provide bank statement with salary slips? to tally each other?? thanks.
  5. Hi Can anyone tell me if they kept wage slips, bank statements, references from accountants etc to take to Oz. Obviously we will want to rent when we get there but I assume it may be difficult and preferences would go to someone with a financial history? Would any financial references from UK count for anything or would they be worthless in OZ? Also, has anyone been asked for these kind of things from their CO? I just wanted to get an idea so that when the time comes I don't want to have shredded all the info. Is it only the main applicants wage slips and references that are of interest or do we need to keep details of myself (second applicant) too? Thanks Karen:cool:

    Documents Old Wage Slips etc

I am emigrating to Melbourne very shortly and wondered if it was worthwhile bringing over a couple of briefcases containing old wage slips/bills etc. From what I gather about Australia you have to build up a credit rating so is it reallty worthwhile bringing all this paperwork with us ? Any ideas ? Cheers
