  1. Scientists have found the world's first hybrid sharks in waters off Australia - a discovery that researchers said could have implications for the whole world. The predators are a cross between the common blacktip shark and the Australian blacktip shark. Scientists say interbreeding between the two species is a sign the animals are adapting to warmer waters. They have also warned it could make the sharks stronger.

    Surf n Sharks advice needed

Evening all, We are considering a move to South Australia. OH is a keen surfer here and is looking forward to continuing in Australia. Was wondering if anybody could recommend any good surf spots to live near? However OH also thinks I only want to move there so I can claim life insurance after he is eaten by a shark. :biglaugh: Could anybody advise what the real situation is on sharks in SA? Thank you, Lauren and Lee
  3. I am petrified of Sharks! Not so hot with spiders and snakes but visted Perth and stayed with friends last year and its not that bad, can imagine you get used to it after awhile and people on here has assured me of this so thats all ok. BUT i am pertrified of Jaws and wish i never watched those bloody films when i was younger!! Wehn we were over lasr year i refused to go in the sea and watched nervously as my OH, best mate and her daughter played in the surf. I have a brilliant imagination and have just the most vivid thoughts of being snaffled by a shark!!! It scares the bejeebers out of me and i wish it didnt.:skeptical: To all those who live in Perth, can you please try and calm me down about the shark factor in the sea! I know WA doesnt have shark nets, doesnt help me one little bit, and i know last boxing day a grandad and his grandson were snorkling early morning and grandad got eatten - AARRGGHHHHHHHH! All this is in my head and i want it out! Any reassurance or advise or calming words or 'get a grip lady' would be really appreciated! xx
