  1. Hi everyone:biggrin: Can anyone tell me about processing timeline for 176 Visa (SS-ACT) seeker from Bangladesh (high risk country)? Does police verification take very long time? Cheers!! Nazmul
  2. Another asylum seeker dies in detention Who is pushing so hard for these news to appear so frequently? People are killed daily in Sydney and there is no news about it... P.S. I am not trying to be negative. Just pointing to the irony.
  3. Hi all, Very tragic news that dozens of lives have been lost. Asylum seekers | Christmas Island Being people who also want to come to Australia, who do YOU actually think is to blame, and what should be done to prevent these sort of things from happening again and again?

  5. Hi, We are new to the site - we have been talking about OZ for many moons...we did start the process about 5 years ago - we had decided on Perth back then...but things changed and we stayed in UK :-( We are now 100% going for the dream.. We went to the Emigrate2 exhibition in Coventry over the weekend to get some initial information - but were disappointed at the level of info available...but knew that we had used various Forums 5 years ago..so we know THIS is the best place to start... So here goes - our first of many posts!! I work as a Project Manager - have 14 years Technical background of which 5 were at Consultancy level - have been Project Manager for 2 years - mainly Infrastructure Projects - PRINCE2 Certified and currently going through the ITIL certification. I’ve worked in the UK as a "Contractor" - which has been good - but it’s also one of the reason's we want to move - so I can spend more quality time with my family. I’ve been researching the salary expectations for us -so we can concentrate on what type of lifestyle we can afford (housing etc etc) and where! The Median Permanent wage I can expect to earn is between 100-140k (Australian $). The wife doesn’t want to work (at all!) initially so that the kids (Kim 16 and Morgan 4) can settle into OZ...But will eventually be looking at Part Time work (if that means we can earn that extra $ - to achieve our dream property/lifestyle). So the question really is - from all your experience - what can I expect from a salary of 100-140k? Is this a good salary for OZ (again - we aren’t sure where - so we appreciate that the cost of living can vary from City to City). It's easy to go to xe.com and see how much £ that gives you - but we've told NOT to do this!! Can anyone help! Hello to all - we are really looking forward to talking to "everyone" - and sharing this stressful time with you all....we know it will be worth it...
