Rental Secured - power, gas etc

Hi, We secured a rental in Curtain today. A couple of hours later I had a txt message and a phone call asking to connect power, gas etc from connectnow pty ltd. Is this the main (and only) provider? Are they ok or is it a scam? Thanks, ChrisW.
  3. Hi all, Not a dilemma as such, and not really sure what I expect from this thread, but here goes. A few days ago, our visa was granted. However, ever since then, my wife has been a bit 'down' and seems fairly negative all of a sudden. Now I realise there's a lot left to do - particularly sell our house and get a job, but I thought she'd be more excited - after all it's what we've been waiting for 6 months to get, and what we've been talking about for around 2 years. Annoyingly her family and closest friends seem fairly negative, and keep suggesting that "we may not be doing the right thing", and "we're just running away", and "what if it doesn't work out" - it's so annoying! There are no guarantees in life, but why can't people just be supportive! It's not like we have an amazing life in this country, so why can't we be allowed to experience an adventrue and see if Oz is for us? Surely the worst that happens is we waste a bit of money, but come back to the UK with a new appreciation for it? Is this a common feeling for some? The sudden doubts? And if so, is there anything I can do to help her, or do I just give it time? Hmmm....
  4. I have at last secured an IT position in Western Australia, and I have managed to do it from the UK. It has been a slow process though. But I sent my acceptance letter last night. So don't give up it is possible to secure a job from the UK however its just harder. I will be moving to Busselton WA mid August so if anyone out that way wants to show me and the family the places to go PM me.:arghh:
  5. Anyone with 175/176 PR visa who actually secured a job while still in the UK??? I`m curious if anyone succeeded at securing a job position while still being in the UK. My hubby tried but it`s tough. Everyone wants him to be in Oz before talking business. There is a company interested in him but still wouldn`t offer anything until he actually is in Oz. The director of that company was very impressed with my husband`s CV and what he achieved and said he would be able to find a job in "5minutes" but it`s still very risky just to go there and start looking, even more as he needs some sort of licence to do his job. We really don`t know what to do. Go and risk it or stay longer and wait for someone who would actually offer him job???? I`m so sick of waiting now. Any constructive advice highly appreciated. Alex
  6. Good evening to all, Im in the process of a 176 state sponsored visa (cat5), I lodged my application in early December 2009 and sit and wait for a case officer. If i was to go to oz before my visa grant how long can we stay in the country before we have to return. could i apply for a temp work visa until my 176 is approved would this complicate things for my 176, proview

  8. I am frantically organising my move back to the UK after 6 years here and as well as battling with removal quotes, husbands visa (he's an ozzie) and school places my big concern is the job situation. The few enquiries I have made tell me that employers like you to be there for interviews. However, I would love to have something secured before I leave (reducing the vast amount of insecurity I'm facing with moving back to the UK!). Has anyone had any experiences good or bad of finding a job before you leave and/or how long has it taken people to get one when they get back??
  9. Hi all, Looking at all options here... About to apply for a PR (family sponsored 176) from the UK (ACS being processed now). However, may have an option to work for an OZ company on a 457. What concerns me is that if the company goes bust or i leave the position, I have 30 days to find another sponsor. My burning question is...Can i apply for a tourist visa, if i lose my job, to allow further time to obtain another sponsor or do I have to go back home(after 30 days) and wait for the PR Visa to be granted before i can come back into the country? Any advise or options would be appreciated. Thanks Nick
  10. I posted a few months back for sponsored IT positions in Australia. This process is now completed however if you have a full visa and are due in Australia shortly below is a list of the current vacancies my company, SMS Management & Technology has - SMS Management & Technology If you think you are suitable for any of the positions outlined below please let me know what position you could fill and send you cv to mervbeng@gmail.com. We can then arrange to have a chat and after that if I think you would be suitable we can hopefully set up a time for interview when you arrive in Australia if you are not already here. Across Australia i.e Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra they are currently recruiting for: IT consultants - 10 + cross industry experience Analyst/Programmers - .Net, JAVA, Oracle, SQL Data Analysts Technical Business Analysts Technical Project Managers - Application Development Solution Architects In Sydney they are particularly interested in Top notch Consultants who would suit working in Technical Services In particular, they are currently seeking: Oracle Developers (8i and 9i), with some SQL experience too. In Brisbane Experienced SAP Functional Consultants with at least 4-5 years experience with a couple of full implementations under their belt.
