    Help with Teacher Job Application?

Hi, I am a teacher and will be moving to Perth with my family in July. I would love to get in contact with a secondary school teacher to discuss the kind of things I should include in my cover letter when applying for my first post in Australia. There is plenty of educational lingo in the UK and a number of key areas which you are expected to touch on in an application, any advice on how to construct my application to provide an area coordinator/head teacher with what they are looking for would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Stuart

    Is science taught wrong?

It was Albert Einstein, no less, who proposed more than 100 years ago that nothing could travel faster than the speed of light. Now CERN has proved him and science wrong. This could change so many things in our world. Light travels many times faster than what we thought. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/science-news/8783011/Speed-of-light-broken-by-scientists.html I find it so interesting!:jiggy:

  5. Hi there I am a secondary science teacher in the UK currently teaching science and maths. I am applying on a 176 family sponsored visa. I see I am still on the SOL list since the changeover. Does anyone know what I need to do to get my qualifications validated for the visa application. i have completed a registration application online with Queensland teaching but is this enough? Do I need to have them validated by the AITSL as well? thanks
  6. Hi all, My husband is a secondary science teacher and we have recently been over to Oz for a recce. We loved what we saw, especially Queensland, and are currently trying to digest all the info regarding immigration, visas etc. What we are wondering is how we would go about applying for private school jobs? We have heard that if we go down the state school route we could be put anywhere. We want to explore the private school option and applying for jobs that way. Does anyone know how we would go about this-will they even consider us with no visa yet, would a private school sponsor a science teacher to move over? So many questions! Any info on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

  9. Hi all, Having a bit of a rough time over here at the moment... My partner can't find work in her field despite being here in Adelaide. She is an Aquatic Resource Management masters graduate with an Honours and Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology... Fresh from Uni so no experience. We are really struggling with finding her a job, and scared that she will miss the boat if she doesn't get employed soon. We are worried that if the situation doesn't get better, she will have to return to the UK to work whilst I will have to stay here... Panic has set in... Does anyone have any contacts in Marine Biology / Aquatic Science in SA. Or even in the whole of Australia? We've been looking for 11 months now to no avail... All want experience, which is great if you can get it... Please help

    Jobs in Science

We have just been granted a Skilled Sponsored Visa (Subclass 176) for NSW. Both myself and my husband work in the Science/Chemical/Pharmaceutical industry and would like to know the best place to locate within NSW to access science jobs/careers. Also could anybody recommend the best strategy for getting our cvs to agencies and employers?

    Melbourne Science Museum

In Spotswood, the museum is a great place to spend the day. It's very engaging for children there are areas about planets, household 'bits' ie water use, recycling, food a pumping station where you can see all the old machines and our favourite and I'm sure a favorite with most people the sports section where you can run against the clock, test your strength, co ordination amongst other things. There is also 2 playgrounds one shaded one not a picnic area with free BBQ's and there is free parking it was $6 (I think) per adult entrance and children (under 16 I think) go free. It's not as 'nerdy' (sorry to science buffs) as you might think and you can spend hours there. Michelle
