  1. Hi I'm landing in Brisbane on Friday and looking to watch the Australia v England world cup match on Saturday. (If I get over the jet lag). P.s. this is my first post and am moving the family to Brisbane for 4 years on a TSS visa. Ideas welcome. Thanks
  2. Looking for a genuine alternative to the expensive Travel Agency organised tours? Welcome to my auction for 4 number 'Gold Category' tickets to the 1st Test Match of the British & Irish Lions tour Down Under. 12 Years in the making, Lions Tours are talked about down the years. The tickets for the Brisbane Test sold out in minutes and are particularly hard to come by (Suncorp Stadium having the smallest capacity of the three Test Venues). Be one of the lucky few to be there. Details: Qantas Wallabies vs British & Irish Lions - 1st Test Match Date: Saturday 22nd June Venue: Suncorp Stadium Ticket Category: Gold Located in the Eastern Stand, I can assure you having first hand experience, that these seats provide an excellent view - please refer to seating plan. http://premier.ticketek.com.au/dbimages/sfx96606.jpg I am an Australian Resident (expat) and so faced none of the restrictions placed on British Residents with regard purchasing tickets. Please note I can also offer alternative tickets to the Brisbane and Sydney Tests If you have any question then please send me a message; I will do my best to help.

    Who will you be supporting?
  5. As an Englishmen , iam disappointed about the revelations and behaviour of some of our rugby players in NZ. I thought only our so called footballers were capable of such stupidity and naivety. In contrast the Welsh have got their act together .....a new young ,focussed captain in Sam Warburton , a togetherness in the team , which hasnt always been the case. As they have such strong minded individuals , like the Dutch soccer team , its often hard to galvanize them .....but not this time. Apparently the Welsh players havent had a beer for months now , and their training has been extensive . The game between Ireland and Wales should be a cracker ,and i think one of these will rightly represent the Northern hemisphere in the final.

  7. Hi all, Edit ***In Sydney*** Just wondering if anyone had any ideas or suggestions about where to watch the Irish / Italy rugby match on Sunday? We are currently staying out in the Hills district, so don't really know many of the pubs out here bar the Mean Fiddler and that's ****e for watching matches. We have a three year old and would like to take her with us but we don't really want to go to somewhere packed & messy. We're not going out on the lash, obviously as we're bringing our daughter but would like to go somewhere with a bit of atmosphere. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, Cheers, Harry. Cheers, Harry.

    Rugby world cup day 1

Well a thumping win for the Kiwis on day 1 they'll be hard to beat that's for sure, 6 tries! My only concern is that they have a fairly easy group (so do Australia) so will they be battle hardened come the Quarter finals? England and South Africa are going to have some proper battles during the group stages so should they come through will be fully ready for whoever they meet. If I was a betting man :cute: my money would still be on New Zealand with maybe a little covering bet on...................................South Africa

    Rugby world cup

Totally miffed to find out that our tv provider Telstra isn't really showing many games...I find it so bizarre to be in Oz, during the world cup being played in NZ and am unable to watch it?! I'm guessing this is because sky/foxtel hold the viewing rights... Telstra aren't even showing the Australia game on Sun! Booooo! I seem to remember the BBC showed most games, although we had sky so I could be wrong on this?! OK rant over.... Thanks! x

  11. Hi People, I know it's a bit away but was wondering if anyone knew of a pommy place or if we can arrange one for watching the rugby world cup?? I survived the soccer world cup wiv the support of my Irish, Scottish and Aussie friends but it was no where near the same as with people who don't half want the 'invaders' to lose! :-) Karen
  12. Hi, I've been i'n Canberra for three weeks, we've just moved into a 6 month rental. We bought a tv yesterday and bought an internal aerial which picks up around 15 channels. Anyhow, I was trying to watch the Golf British Open last night and it wasn't on any of the channel I had. Do I need Foxtel for this? I would also like the ability to watch premiership football (uk), I suppose record and watch first thing in the morning. Also, with rugby union world cup coming up, I don't want to miss it! I imagine Foxtel would cost a fortune to be able to watch Uk sports? Thanks! Mike.

  21. Hi I'm heading to Perth in just over a weeks time(Wahoo!). The 6 Nations Rugby is on over the next two months and I defo would like to be in the pub for it as thats when I really will start to miss my mates back home. I was in Sydney a few years ago and watching those games was never a problem as there are so many 24hr bars in Sydney. I've heard that most pubs close at midnight in Perth, is that right? Does anybody know of a late night sports bar around the city? Thanks K :v_SPIN:

    rugby lad returns home

some may read this as a very negative post im sure but i suppose in a way it is. After speaking to my friend today whos 20 year old brother went over to oz to play r ugby as decided to return home early due to a ozzy guy running over his foot with his car on purpose and causing him hospital treatment apparantly this oz guy said to him were sick to death of you poms comming over here and taking our jobs he politely replyed and said im over here playing rugby mate not to take anyones job away the guy thought he was been rather clever in his reply to his remark so got in his car and run over his foot on the roadside put his head out the window and said now try playing rugby you pompus git and casualy drove away. So friends brother is now returning home said oz is not everything people try making it out to be and the people are not very nice. Now some may say this is a negative post but this is truthfull about this poor lad and just goes to show theres bad people in ozz as well as the uk.

  25. Hi Is there any Rugby fans out there who would like a good day out, all welcome and if any of you have any children who'd like to join the juniors let me know. The club is based on the Gold Coast and it's a really friendly club with a good social side one of the teams are a feeder club for the Reds so it's a very good standard. So if your interested let me know and we'll arrange a date. Cheers Paul
