Hi all Just wondered if anyone has any experience in reverse auctions. I have seen a house that I like the look of on Realestate.com which is up for reverse auction. The value of the house is $615,000 but auction price is $310.00 which they say will be sold for less than that. I emailed the agent who sent me some info back but I'm still confused. The way I see it is you have to join their auction site for a cost of $200 and then each bid you put in you pay around $5. The lowest unique bid gets the house. This all seems a bit too good to be true to me, I have also spoken to our morgage advisor who also didnt know anything about them but found out the above info for me. Has anyone bought a property like this and are they cosher. Thanks Lynne

We all know at certain times some threads get a bit waylaid, and if you read the last page of posts they bare little or no resemblance to the original OP. So I will start the thread from the last post, see if you can work backwards and come to what the 'ORIGINAL' thread was about, here goes::goofy: I never said that I disliked them all, just some of them. And besides, you have gone so far off topic that I can't remember the OP. Cheers Tony:wink:

Damn it's getting cold here in the mornings (Perth)! We will be moving into the house we bought in a few weeks and I wondered what is the best way to go re the above? We have AC so the ducting is there but is it that simple to have it changed to reverse cycle, or does ducted gas make more sense? Short term we'll use gas fires but I'm thinking about winter 2011 and don't want to start decorating if there's going to be a lot of mess involved.
