  1. Hi This is my first post on this forum and I was wondering if anyone has had an experience where they were refused a spouse visa due to Hypopituitarism (or if they were granted their visa and have this conditon). My husband, who has this condition, is currently applying for his spouse visa (I am Australian and we are planning to move there permanently from the UK). He has undertaken his medicals and we just got an email from our case officer saying: 'Your medical reports were referred to the Health Operations Centre (HOC) in Australia for an opinion on whether you meet the health requirement for the grant of the above visa because a health concern was identified by our panel doctors during your medical examinations.' I am only assuming that they are referring to his Hypopituitarism, unless he has something else we don't yet know about! What I am wondering is - is this just a normal response for someone who has an existing medical condition? Do all/most medical conditions need to be referred to HOC? My husband's condition requires him to take medication everyday, which we are obviously willing to pay for ourselves in OZ (he gets it for free here) and he does not require any hospital treatment or any other type of medical treatment apart from his daily medication. Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help :cute:
  2. I have used the calculator on the webpage, the result said I met the requirement, However,I am woundering one circumstance, which shows in bold below: If any of the following applied to you in the past 4 years, please telephone our service centre on 131 880 during business hours to discuss your circumstances. You obtained an e-visa to replace an expired RRV You obtained a bridging visa of any type You lodged an onshore application for a permanent visa then travelled overseas on your temporary visa You are a New Zealand citizen on a Special Category Visa (SCV) After I lodged onshore, my student visa did not expired, so I went to oversea for 3 weeks- I came back before my visa expired. I called the Immi, someone said because I went to overseas, so my previouse residence became unlawful, i need to stay longer, Is that true, I am really comfused. Thanks for your answer.

    Specific work experience requirement

Hi Reading the DIAC's requirements for specific work experience it states for 10 points: - If your nominated occupation is: worth 60 points and you have been employed in your nominated occupation, or a closely related occupation listed on the SOL, for at least three of the four years before the day of your application. Now I am applying as Management Accountant which is on the SOL but for the past 5 years my occupations have been Finance Manager and Finance Director which are not on the SOL. Does it mean that the nominated occupation (Management Accountant) must be on the SOL or does it mean that the closely related occupation (Finance Manager or Finance Director) must be on the SOL? Thanks in advance

    Character requirement - Help!

Hi everybody, I've just been informed today that there is a CO processing my application but hasn't contacted me yet. I thought about starting to get the police checks to speed up the process as much as I can. I've checked the website of immigration about "Character and Penal Clearance Requirements" but I am not sure how many certificates do I need to get... In Spain we have: - Local police check - National police check (1 month to get it!!) - Penal check (1 day to get it) Anybody knows if I have to provide all of them? because it's a hell of procedures... Thanks!

    Work experience requirement

Hi, I'm waiting for my skills assessment to come through before applying for state sponsorship. The new points test will give me 15 points for overseas work experience in nominated occupation ( 8 years out of last ten). But....when I looked at the online application system it asked if I had worked for 12months out of the last 24 in my nominated occupation. My question is: does maternity leave count towards this requirement? I've taken two lots in the last 3 years so this may hold things up if not. Thanks for any advice becky
  7. Hi all, my wife is a main applicant for ENS 121 visa and she is AHPRA registered so no need of IELTS for her. However being a partner I have to provide evidence for English language. I am originally from India and become British citizen in Sep 2010. But not sure whether this will be enough to prove and also passed IELTS Academic module with overall 6.5 band but the only issue is I appeared for the test in Sep 2009 more than 2 years ago. Is it possible to provide evidence that I am in UK since last 7 years and working in IT dept for a NHS trust in London for last 3 years so this way I can confrim that after passing IELTS in 2009 I am working in English speaking country or I have to sit for IELTS General module again to score 4.5 which is not tough but..... Appreciate any advice or info who has gone through this situation. Mansawant
  8. Is it normal to not see the police check requirement along with medicals when you log into e-business? Just wondering if sometimes it's not required or whether it's just not listed.

    Help! 885 GSM Visa

I applied for the 885 Visa on June 11, 2011, and have already been granted a CO. However, my study end date was December 9, 2010 (6 months + 2 days prior to lodging application). The only thing I have to submit now to my CO is a PCC. However, since my PCC takes 4-6 months to process if i am overseas, I really cannot wait on this time frame, so I want to fly to my home country, personally get the PCC (they give it within 2-3 days if you apply for PCC in own country), then come back to OZ to finalise my application. My question is, that based on the information I provided, what is the likelihood that I will be granted a visa if I am 2 days over the 6 month time frame? Is there ANY leniency on this matter exercised by COs? Should my husband and I take a trip to our home country ($4000+) just to get a PCC and come back within a week to OZ, only to potentially have our application rejected? We've put in a tremendous amount of money, time and effort into this, as i'm sure all of those who apply for similar visas would, only to realize we were "late" by 2 days, but we lodged anyway. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.
  10. The posts on here have been really informative but I would like some advice regarding my personal situation if anyone can help? Immigration cannot be specific and I am having trouble getting hold of my local migration agent plus it seems to be rather expensive! I really just want to know if it is worth submitting an application at all as obviously it is a lot of money to waste if I don't stand a good chance of getting approved. So, my story is... I met my partner in December 2010 while I was on a 2nd working holiday visa and was living with him from January 2011, though I have no real proof of this as it is his dad's flat, so would only have statutory declarations plus board was still being taken from my wages for food. My visa ran out on 4 March so I returned to my parents' house in England. I have got lots of proof of phone calls and emails for the 3 months that I was away. During this period I was applying for university, internships etc. in Australia so that I could come back and my partner and I booked a trip to see eachother in June in Vietnam. After we spent 3.5 weeks in Vietnam together I came back to Australia for a 6 week internship in Wadeye, again we stayed in regular contact. We then spent 2 weeks in Darwin together before flying to Nhulunbuy, which is where I have been since August living with him. He is financially supporting me as I was on a tourist visa and then a bridging visa A, and he did write a statement to this effect for me to send to the Student Loans Company in the UK. I have been offered sponsorship off the back of my internship and so will have to return to Wadeye this month when my 457 visa gets granted. So basically we lived together for 2 months at the beginning of the year (but no real evidence), then have lived together for 3-4 months more recently. I have no real hope of moving back to where my boyfriend is unless we can get a de facto visa but then I am not sure if we can get a de facto visa if we are living apart. I was not going to apply until January but I'm just trying to get my head around all of the paperwork and requirements now. Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

    Visa requirement?

Hello everyone, M e and my O/H are flying to Perth in Feb to validate his Spouse Visa. I don't need a visa as I am an Australian Citizen and so are our children. However, not sure if different visa for us all is required when stopping at Kuala Lumpur to refuel and change aircraft on the way???? Sorry if this sounds a stupid question but it' something that was mentioned by my brother who lives in Oz because, his In-laws were panicking as they were due to fly over to Oz recently and he mentioned they may not get past the country they were stopping at to change aircraft on the way (can't remember what country he said it was) so we just wondered. I must say though I have never heard that a visa is required for the country that you stop at on the way to Oz. Any replies would be welcome just to clarify. Many thanks.:wubclub:

  13. My wife has completed 1 year ELICOS (Cert III & IV in ESL). We are planning to lodge 475 (offshore-relative sponsored visa). I went through the immi website about the requirements for the visa and found that for secondary applicant they need IELTS or "have completed at least one year of full time study in Australia towards a degree or diploma qualification with all instruction conducted in English". Does this sentence mean she doesn't need to sit for IELTS exam ?? Kindly waiting for the suggestion if anyone have got any idea......
  14. Please can someone advise me if I must have worked for at least 20 hours a week for 3 years out of the last 4 to gain the extra 10 points for specific work experience. An agent told me that I only needed to have done more than 20 hours for that last 12 months but looking on the DIAC website it reads like it is for 3 years? If this is the case and I need to get an employer to sponsor me am I right in thinking I have to work full time? Thank you Gill
  15. Hi does anybody know or was in the same situation the DIAC is asking 4.5 overall for my wife english (IELTS) is that correct? Or can be 4 overall? She did the exam and got 4 overall. Thanks

  18. Hi all, I am currently on bridging visa A for visa 485. I would like to apply for visa 885 which I understand it requires band 8 in each categories. However, I do not know if I should take the Academic module or general module for the ielts test. Some told me I need to take academic module for Permanent Resident skilled assessment. But I have already received my skilled assessment for Registered Nurse while applying for visa 485. So I am really confused now if i should take academic module or general module for the english test ? as I find general module is easier.

    Work experience requirement

The experience requirement is after studies has completed or work can be counted while studying. For Example I started ACCA in Feb 2003 , before that I have done CAT ( ACCA's certificate ). During ACCA studies, in 2005 I started to work as an assistant accountant than promoted as Manager in an accountancy practice in 2008. I fininshed ACCA Feb 2011 and still hold Management position in an accountancy practice. Would my experience be counted , If yes how many years? another thing shall I wait until july to make an Skilled migrant application? Thanks
  20. One of my friend is about to apply for 175 VISA within a few days. I have heard somewhere that there is a new recent requirement in lodging 175 visa in which you need to obtain some kind of APPROVAL before applying for the visa application. My Questions are. 1) Is there any such change and if so, it is in effect? 2) Can someone refer a link to details of this recent change? Thanks for help.
  21. Hello, Firstly, thanks in advance for any advise you may provide. My partner and I live in different states in AU and we are looking at applying for the partner visa as he's about to get his PR and my situation is hopeless by itself (on a student visa now as currently in Cat 4 for 176 visa lodged in 2008) :arghh: I hoping someone/anyone might be able to shed some light on the '12months relationship' requirement? My question is, would my partner & I be able to use the 4months of dating in 2009 as part of the 12months relationship requirement? Timeline of our (inter-state) relationship; May2009 = first met July 2009 = started dating (month #1) Aug 2009 = his trip to see me (month #2) Sept 2009 = my trip to see him (month #3) Oct 2009 = things ended due/halted (month #4) **9 months break** July 2010 = started communicating Oct 2010 = decided on getting back together (month #5) Nov 2010 = (month #6) Dec 2010 = first trip to see each other since Sept 2009 (month #7) Jan 2011 = trips (month #8) Feb 2011 = trips (month #9) Mar 2011 = trips (month #10) Apr 2011 = trips (month #11) May 2011 = trips (month #12) June 2011 = trips (month #13) July 2011 = trips (month #14) **we plan to lodge our partner visa in June/July We have phone bills, emails, photos, joint bank accounts, flight details, cards addressed to both of us and we'll be able to get our families & friends to provide stat decs to confirm our relationship. Looking forward some good advice (as I have researched alot but I cant seem to get anything to answer this, thats why Im here as there's a wealth of knowledge here) Cheers, SW

  23. :confused:Hi all, I'm new to this form and am looking into coming to Aus. Spoke to some migration agents and was told I would need to get registration with AHPRA. I have been on the website and checked out all the info, however its no half confusing.... Has any1 been thru the process and can offer advice? btw i'm from the uk Thanks
  24. I'm in serious trouble right now. I really hope anyone might be able to offer me any help. My case officer informed me today that my visa 886 is not sucessful due to two reasons. 1 I was not a holder of V485 and i was holding a V485 bridging visa. 2 My v886 lodged in Aug 10 which was more than 6 months after completing my study on Dec 09. She could only grant me with V485. I may either choose to withdraw my application or she will fail it. It looks like there is nothing i could really change. But I try to give my last effort. My question is does my information provided below satisfy "overseas students who have met the Australian study requirement" ? My bachelor degree is IT. I initally planned to do a graduate diploma in Economics in 2010. I enrolled, attended a week or two class in the late Feb 2010. But i applied program leave due to the reason that i found a job in Mar 2010 somehow. Then i've been in that job until now. I have the following evidence with me: *a graduate diploma offer acceptance declaration i signed on Nov 2009 *an overseas student Confirmation of Enrolement created on 10/02/2010 by my program convener *a tution payment confirmation *an email indicates that i received my tuition refund regarding to my program leave application i submitted on Mar 2010 I wonder whether the above information could possibly suggest that i was an oversea student and met the Australian study requirement until Mar 2010? Thanks a lot.
  25. Hi I have doubts if the time I spent in bridging visa will be included in the 4 years residency requirement for citizenship. The residency calculator page in citizenship website says If any of the following applied to you in the past 4 years, please telephone our service centre on 131 880 during business hours to discuss your circumstances. You obtained an e-visa to replace an expired RRV You obtained a bridging visa of any type You lodged an onshore application for a permanent visa then travelled overseas on your temporary visa You are a New Zealand citizen on a Special Category Visa (SCV) I came to Aus in Aug 2006 and was granted residency on Apr 2011, I am planning to apply for citizenship on Apr 2012, from 2006 to 2009 I was in a student visa, then applied for Permanent residency and was in a bridging visa for 2 yrs and then my application was approved, so I am living here for past 4 yrs and 6 months, my question is will I be eligible for citizenship on Apr 2012? Will the time that I was in Bridging visa be included in the 4 years and 6 months that i was here? Thank you.
