  1. Hello... Any advice/comments/suggestions on whether it is actually worth taking all my household goods would be greatly appreciated! I have had a few quotes from removal companies ranging from £3,000 to £4,000 with varied cubic foot space too! I am wondering if it is worth selling most of my things in the UK, saving the shipping fee and then buying once I arrive in Perth... has anyone done this and what would you advise? My concern is the price of items in Perth, I am led to believe it is very, very expensive? Also, if you have any websites of stores in Perth I can look at please let me know! I have seen JBHi-Fi and there electrical goods are reasonably priced, I need to figure out prices of sofas and bedroom furniture really. Many thanks peeps.... Laura

    Training my replacement

Guh....I've been training my replacement for my job all week. I'm having a hard time staying focused. All I can think about is the move. The director of my division has been running screen for me in that he's fending off people trying to harass me to do more than train. He's a great guy and totally understands that I have the "leavin' disease". I can tell it's only going to get worse though.
  3. Hi everyone, I am currently applying for my permanent residency and have realised I no longer have my old passports; but am required to give certified copies of the biodata pages of them. I can't seem to find out where I get these from. I'm sure I can't be the only person this has happened to! Not having any luck with various British government websites etc. Can anyone help? I'd be extremely grateful! Thanks, Sophie x
  4. I have been searching the DIAC site (as directed by Auspost website) for information about getting visa replacement stickers in renewed passports but can't find the actual link. Does anyone know where I can find out how to go about this as will be renewing the kids passports for a holiday next year? I would really like them to be allowed back into the country with us!! - although on second thoughts lol!! Karen

  6. So, I have been in Australia since the beginning of 2008, traveled and when I came back to Melbourne at the start of '09 I started to seek out a job with the possibility of sponsorship. Now, after my application has been lodged, my employer has run out of funds to pay his staff and I am screwed! I am on a bridging visa, my working holiday expired months ago, I have very little saved, was earning very good money before hand and even went as far as invited my sibling over to stay with me, who I am now responsible for financially for the next couple of months as he is only on a tourist visa. Does anybody know of any Melbourne based recruitment agencies who specialise in seeking roles with 457 sponsorship visas? Experience in Advertising Sales, Sales/Marketing, Business Analysis/IT... Any information at this point will be hugely appreciated! My last day is on the 18th - last pay on Christmas Eve - the timing is totally bad! HELP! :arghh:
