How many times can you use a 12 months' visitor's visa whilst waiting for a standard aged parents residence visa to go through? Has anyone experience of multiple repeats of their visa? Also, is it possible for the aged parent to invest in property (jointly with relatives who are Australian citizens) without actually being permanent residents? (Reluctant to use funds for contributory visa application, as funds needed to invest in a property to live in.) Thanks, Janet (Janine's Mum)

We had our medicals just over a week ago and this morning got a voicemail from the doctor asking my other half to come in to see him. Ofcourse the worry box that I am I almost had a heart attack during the 15 minutes it took for my OH to call the doctor and find out what was going on. I was imagining the worst, HIV etc! The doctor said nothing to cause concern, but he would like a second xray as the first picture was not clear enough. Has anyone out there had this? Not sure if this is common or not. My OH is a semi-pro cyclist and fit as a fiddle, never had any probs with his lungs/heart... But now I am worried ofcourse, if it could really be something sinister :wideeyed: Surely the doctor would not have said 'nothing to worry about', if there was something to worry about?? I guess I should be pleased that I haven't been called back in as I am probably in the clear. Every cloud...

repeat use of eta visa i went to australia 15th october til 23rd december 08 to visit my fiance on an eta visa. i am going back in 3 weeks, so can be there for valentines day with him, also there for his birthday and to book a marriage celebrant for our wedding in december. when i come back on 18th march 09 i am going to hand in my apllication for a prospective marriage visa. i am very worried that immigration are going to refuse me entry as am going back over ther so soon, surley im not doing anything wrong, by going to see my parntner and sort out arrangements for our wedding, i will also be taking over some of my belongings to help me so when and if immi let me move over there to be with my shaney it helps me. im terrified that they will take it the wrong way. also i was on a working holiday visa from ja 06 til jan 08, thats how i met my man. also when i flew into perth in october i got stopped just casually and he wasnt horrible and said that i couldnt keep coming over on a tourist visa(it made me so mad) that was my first time on an eta. but isnt this what they are designed for? ahhhrrr any advice greatly needed thankyou :arghh: nadine

Hi, We now have severe weather warnings here in NSW which has been placed top priority, King tides, flash flooding, abnormally high tides, winds at 90km/h mainly in the Hunter & metropolitan areas at the mo but supposedly spreading to other areas of NSW. SES numbers have also now been issued I remember the bad storms last year the same first 2 weeks of june too, so many peeps lost so much and took weeks & weeks for many to get back to normal, which caused so much heartache, upset & cost - guess its time too batten down the hatches & ride it out. (wyong river & tuggerah lakes on flood alert, remember tuggerah mcdonalds under water last year (it was not good all the buns got soggy !!!) How are you guys in other states of oz doing, is your weather calm????
