Hi Everyone I've had a look through the threads mentioning Blu-ray but can't find an answer so thought I'd ask a specific question in the hope that someone out there has an answer - there's usually someone who does! If we buy a blu-ray player over here we know it'll play both UK & Oz bought blu-ray discs as they're in the same region. But with the DVD bit of the player most have Region 4 specified so won't play the UK Region 2 DVD's we've got. We've got a UK DVD player that we've unlocked for both regions but don't want to have too much kit cluttering up the TV stand so would prefer to upscale to just the one combined blu-ray/DVD player. Have any PIO-ers bought a specific blu-ray player over here that's either not region specific or they've successfully unlocked? There was one player in Harvey Norman that didn't have Region 4 specified but we didn't know if that meant it was any region or not. Failing that we'll just buy one from Amazon.co.uk & with the current exchange rate the prices are pretty cheap & then we'll just not buy anything on DVD over here, just get the blu-ray version. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi to all pink pom here aka the Mcknight family from glasgow have not posted for a while cos not sure what to say or do! We visited Brisbane and the Gold Coast last July and we were completely blown away. WE LOVED AUSTRALIA!!!!!! Whilst there we used the time to do a lot of research and unfortunately we couldn't secure even one meeting with an employer. Nobody was interested unless you have actually already moved there. I thought the cost of living was equally as high as the UK and I'm still unsure about the healthcare system. Am I right that you have to pay $90 every time you visit a GP????? I am wondering how can you earn less and yet have more to pay? To compound things, we arrived home to grey rain and the credit crunch. Whilst not in negative equity, I believe we would only secure what we paid for our house therefore making anything, JOY! I would love to go to Australia but the thought of going there and then securing employment really frightens me. I have 2 boys aged 12 and 10 and I'm terrified of mucking things up for them. So my question is this - Has anyone in a similar position been brave and made the move?? please tell me your story and give me a ray of hope or am I just being too picky? Is there really work out there? or is the credit crunch looming in Oz too? grateful thanks Pink Pom x

Hi I wondered if anyone else have been in this situation. My husbands chest x ray shows mild scarring and he now needs further investigation for TB. He is not ill at all and I am waiting for the GP to phone us back. He will need to provide 3 sputum samples and may need to see a chest specialist. I am not sure if this will ruin our plans to return to Perth. Our house is not sold yet so we are not in a big rush!! Thanks Arlene

Hi all - anxious here I'm going through the process of a 457 visa. The x-ray hospital would not tell me the results of our xrays, only to say "Nothing major wrong" Has anyone else had that? I also had a receipt that said xray A (£x) and xray B (£y) (both different prices!!). The paranoid element of me has read into this meaning one result is A and one B. What does having a B mean - refusal? Don't know what to think:wacko: Jonny

We had our meds and xray done on Friday at Cambridge. We got a phone call from the hospital asking for us to take our son back for another x ray. The reason being because it was slighty on the angle and the DIMA would accept the picture. Has anyone had the same problem or any advice. I have taken him up there this afternoon for another X ray and they said the same as on Friday that they were ok.. david
