Any nurse here or in uk awaiting AHPRA registration? I applied with QNC...
Guest posted a topic in Careers and Vacancies
Hey all, I have been in oz since april, I also applied for my reg with QNC in april. I was due to start work 3 weeks ago. NMC in UK were so late and tardy in sending my verification I lost out on being granted reg with QNC by one day! Now AHPRA (formed 1st july) do not have the processes in place to assess overseas trained nurse's applications at the moment. so I cant work, I dont know when I will be able to and I can't get any sense out of AHPRA! Thinking there most be some people in the same boat? Annie:wacko: -
HI can anybody tell me the right fee for QNC registration please. I have all my ANMC documentation and IELTS results with them. I was told that the fee is $252, is that right and can someone confirm this, ruuning out of time confused by their web site.

Sent off the app 2 weeks ago and got a letter yesterday asking for another payment. We called them last night and paid it by CC. Got this E mail this morning: Hi Lisa, Your credit card details went through fine, you are now active as a registered nurse and eligible to practice in Queensland. Due to the postal strike in the UK I am sending this email to inform you of your registration as the documents could be delayed in reaching you. You can view the public register on our website (address below) to see that you are active, as can any prospective employer. Kind Regards, :chatterbox:

I am soooooooo fuming I don't know what to do anymore:arghh: Between January and beginning of May I endeavored to get my Midwifery Transcripts from Scotland. Duly sent off my application to QNC for Midwifery Endorsement mid-May amidst the many floods of other applicants at the time with changes looming re-IELTS and renewals for existing. Waited until late July before enquiring re-progress of said application only to be told that it has been referred to the Director of Nursing Programme as I had not submitted IELTS(bearing in mind it was not a requirement when I applied in May).I had to motivate that I had in actual fact sat my Academic IELTS on 27th June due to needing the extra points for a 176 but had to ask the British Council then to courier a copy direct as they would not accept my certified copy which was scanned. Anyway that done,I thought that was the end of it BUT NO there's more.........Enquired again at the end of August to be told that Yes the IELTS is satisfactory but my application has been referred to the Council for discussion at a meeting to be held some time in October wtf! Waited and waited and heard nowt so I emailed then on 2nd November to be told.......My application has been forwarded to the Registration Overseas Assessment Panel for perusal at their meeting to be held on the 10 November.........but wait there's more.......... Once they are finished with it they then have to send it with their reccommendation to the Registration Committee who are holding their meeting on the 20 November after which they will reach a decision. Has this happened to anyone else this is just ludacrous(spelling). I trained in Scotland,I am Scottish so no 3rd world HR country Risk! Have been qualified since 1989 so the only explanation is that maybe the "old" style training does not meet their standards. They have not asked me for any more proof nor indicated that anything I have submitted is not sufficient so there seems no plausible explanation other than a love for committee meetings to discuss yours truly! At no time have I been rude to them and I have not constantly contacted them and badgered council uneccessarily,as I think their correspondance is fairly good and quick if you do have a genuine query! Vent over..........now I wait another month with no Endorsement, one blessing is that I am fortunately not ready to leave yet anyway but it is just now the principal.

QNC now require ALL nurses to have a ridiculously high score for the IELTS to register to work. http://www.qnc.qld.gov.au/upload/pdf...d_midwives.pdf Not good news for us as my wife is adamant she does not want to do it. JOHN
