Hello, My boyfriend and I are looking into moving in the next few years, we are going over to visit first but need to decide where to look based on where we would like to live. I think the options seem to be Perth or Brisbane/Sunshine Coast - I was just wondering if anyone could advise which one would have better job prospects for both of our careers? My partner is a joiner, and I am a finance analyst (although I am not degree qualified)....so complete opposite work so we need a place that has opportunities for both! Any help would be great! Thanks

Hi All, I am very close to accepting an offer in the west sydney suburb or Prospect/Greystaines. My partner will need to find a job so I am thinking that we should live out west but close to the city and not a million miles from the beach. My prospective employer has suggested Newtown, I would appreciate any feedback on this as the suburb rating on the rentals site is only 67% against much higher scores for other suburbs? Also would the beach suburbs of east sydney be too far away for a commute (drive) to prospect? Many Thanks in advance Tracy

Hi all Me and my wife are studying in Aus, with the long term goal of staying. We have some GBP in a savings account in the UK (earning no interest). We are in no rush for the cash over here, but i am wondering if the pound will improve against the AUS Dollar over the next year or so? or should we look into exchanging now? Any advice is very much appreciated Tim

It would be nice to get some feedback from some people within the S.A. area whom could possibly give myself their opinion for career prospects for myself. I am 33 years of age (male),Ship/Boatbuilder by trade (1992-1997),12 years making and installing stairs, windows, doors ,screens and all associated hardware (1997-2009),as of 2004 took on Health&Safety duties at former employment. I have a status graded within the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health of Technician which allows myself to put TechIOSH after my name. I would really like to continue with the H&S but financies dictate sometimes, so would really appreciate if anyone could give myself their opinion on what path to initially target and also I already have Perm' Res', hoping to go early next year and lucky enough to have a Brother and Sister in law who are going as well and would like to know is there a reasonable demand for Bespoke Joinery Products. Thanks Chris

Guys, I've detailed a link below to an official Oz Government document that advises on Australian Labour Market and Job Prospects etc. It's a pretty comprehensive document and appears to be up to date (Eg. 2007). It should at the very least provide some useful info' relating to job market etc. http://www.workplace.gov.au/NR/rdonlyres/00DD2708-97DA-47AF-8A7A-15F12196C447/0/AustralianJobs2007Workplace.pdf
