    Flammable products

We were told by our removal company that highly flammable products (such as deodorants, shower foams, etc) are prohibited and we couldn't ship them to Australia:mad: Can we bring deodorants, etc. in our luggage or would customs take them?
  5. I am trying to find a reputable site from which I can buy some Clarins products. Can anyone recommend a particular site? I have searched a few stores here but the prices are extortionate..... Help please ? :wubclub:
  6. I know that there are a few house husbands on here, some through choice and some through circumstance, or there are those that work from home (my particular circumstance through necessity, and YES I do work believe it or not) and do the majority of the household chores. In this enlightened age we seem to merging our definitions of which role male/female play in society. As some of you know I am a full time carer for Ruth and do the vast majority of cooking, cleaning, taxi service, etc, and this respect I think I am turning little 'lady' like. To those of you who are in this position do you find yourself getting all enamored with the latest cleaning spray, the latest super dooper dish cloth. Do you find yourself looking longingly at the latest fab product in the 'cleaning' department of Tesco. Only the other day I was having a conversation with a fellow shopper (female) about the pros and cons of a certain brand of washing up liquid. There I was discussing at great length the disappointment I felt at many modern cleaning materials, and the conversation just went on and on.:embarrassed: I even know the young girl who stacks the said aisle, lovely girl who reminds me where all the specials are. Once I have bought them I rush home to test these products out. Ruth looks at me with bewilderment at times, but in all sincerity fellas do you find yourself becoming a little lady like.:embarrassed::chatterbox::biglaugh: Our kitchen sink cupboard actually looks like an aisle in Tesco, reams and reams of cleaning products, some used, some unopened, and some destined for the rubbish bin. Only the other day a friend of my youngest thought it strange that I was doing the cooking and sewing up a pair of jeans for my eldest at the same time. I tried to explain to him (14 years old) the why's and wherefores of why I do such a thing, but all I got in reply was 'Tony, you should buy an apron',:biglaugh::biglaugh:, the innocence of the young I guess. So come on men, fess up, are you a closet cleaning freak. Cheers Tony.

  9. Don,t worry Earlswood we will give you a taste of Oz without you having to come back here. Brits gobble up Australian products and ideas | The Courier-Mail
  10. Has anyone else had any problems with the cashback promotion with ACER? I purchased a monitor with a $29 cashback 6 months ago. You had to fiddle around cutting out the number from the box, copy receipt etc and post it off within 7 days. I posted it back the day I purchased the item. to cut a long story short my cheque did not come. ACER stated that I did not return the receipt in time which is complete rubbish. I complained to victorian consumer affairs and got my cheque. I have since come across a website that is full of complaints about ACER and not fulfilling the cashback agreement. It was not the money but the principal of it all. Worth a try to vic affairs!
  11. Hi there, we are aiming to come over to Perth in Sept 08 and have had a quote from shippers a long time back on shipping goods over, mainly furniture etc. I will get them back to re-quote us but was thinking in the meantime if I could take beauty products over in the container. I am a beauty therapist and as well as taking all my kit over with the house contents I have a huge amount of products ranging from Dermalogica creams/lotions, nail varnishes, body wrap products etc. I know I cannot take any wax products over as I have already found that out from candles and similar, but this is a grey area. I also know I can get new over in Aus, but have so much. If anyone could help me out with a firm yes or no I can start to either sell them off or bring. As any other beauticians will know these products are not cheap so if I can bring I would do so. Also how does it fair to do Beauty Therapy from a home based business in Australia. Very successful in UK and just wondered if it's the same in Aus. Or would a salon be better. Just wondering as suburbs are so spread out and thought shops would just be miles away in shopping centres. Thanks Shirley
