    457 visa process time

Hi everyone, I'm currently applying for a 457visa for just myself (primary) as a software engineer. The application has been lodged and every documents have been submitted by my migration agent around mid March. But on the ImmiAccount, it still shows 'Assessment in Progress'. It has been over two months. That is really really really frustrating because my job contract is about to expire in my country. I don't know if I should renew my contract or just wait for the visa approved. Does anyone know how long it would take normally? And, is there anyone in the same or similar situation here?

    Visa 189 grant DELAYED!!

Hello Everyone I have lodged my application on the 18th of November 2014 and I have not got any response yet nor an email from a case officer so far. I am very concerned about this situation as the processing time has taken about 4 months. When I read the immigration webpage there I found that the average processing time is 3 months and I've seen some cases where the response has lasted less than 3 months. Could anyone tell me how long this could take or what could be happening? I made sure all the information was attached and I carried out the medical checks as soon as the webpage allowed to do so.
  3. Hey everyone! I applied for the prospective marriage visa in march, and it got acknowledged by my co on 10th April. I already did the medicals and all the police checks when I submitted my application, as my migration agent advised that it may be granted quicker. However the co advised the 8-9 month minimum wait. I'm finding it really hard now being apart from my fiance, who is still in Australia. How long has it taken people to get their visas granted?

    Defacto partners visa questions???

Hi there. My Australian citizen girlfriend and I want to apply for the Defacto partnership Visa and was hoping you guys could help me with a few questions. 1. We are currently in New Zealand and where planing on going to Aus to apply for the visa,I was going to go initially on a tourist visa. Is this a bad idea? how long are the prosessing times for applying on and offshore? heard it is quicker if you apply from ofshore. 2. would I be able to work when the bridging visa is granted? 3.Do you think it's best to use a migration agent? Am still a bit confused about the whole process so it would be great if anyone has advice on the best way to go about getting all this done as quickly and painlessly as possible! thanks alot.
  5. Hellow fellow applicants/migrators; my application for the partner (defacto) temporary visa arrived at the London office on 7th August 2012 and I had an email from my case officer on 13th August 2012 asking for a medical examintaion to be provided and that was it! I also received my police check certifaicatess and some relationship evidence back to my postal address on 13th August. My question is; what does this mean? Any one who has been through this process will know so any help will be great. I have heard that health checks are usually the last hting asked for and as I have front loaded the application with the police checks and form 80 I guess that means I have provided enough relationship evidence? I just can't believe how quick they have been and don't want to get lulled into a false sense of security!!! Getting excited!!

    Spouse visa

Hi All, I am new to this forum and I need some advice on my spouse visa. I applied my visa (subclass 309 and 100) by 27th Apr 2011 and I am not granted with visa yet. Its already 7 months and I am now living with my husband in Australia in visitor visa. My questions is, if I am granted with spouse visa, and asked to leave the country for stamping howlong I should be in offshore. Do u ppl have any idea. If so kindly share it. Thanks & Regards, RTPry.
  7. Before I get into all the details, my 2 questions are: 1. Can I leave my 175 application in if I put in an 820? 2. How long does 820 take to process once they have all docs? History: I live in Sydney since 2002 when I came on a student visa to do a PhD. PhD awarded May 2008 and I applied (finally!) for PR 175. Jan 1, no CO assigned and my 175 put on hold (no MODL/CSL/SS). My current 457 (temp) expires Dec 31; PR health exams expire Jan 12 2010; i turned 45 years old Jan 2009. I have 2 teens (17) who can't go to school w/o PR. 820 allows highschool, but too late for that as they have dropped out and want TAFE now. I have been applying for any 3year (ENS 856) job available in Australia to no avail. My partner and I have lodged intention to marry on Nov 14 and I can lodge 820 Nov 17. Dilemma: What I do know is that if I apply for an ENS, I tsf my $2000, but have to lodge a new application, which means I now have to get exemption for age. If I apply for 820 spouse, I have to pay $2500, my children don't get school and will go home to Canada to live with dad, I have to wait another 2 years for full PR (so I still limits on SOME jobs that you have to be full PR for), and what if the r'ship falls apart? What I don't know is can I leave my 175 application in if I put in an 820? That way, I can still apply for jobs for ENS, and who knows, DIAC might change their minds in another 6 mths - now that there are signs of rapid economic recovery, they may decide they need workers after all and lift the hold on 175!!!! Also would like to know how long does 820 take to process once they have all docs? Thanks, Suzanne
