Hi All, We just moved to Berwick (we are building a house in Berwick waters) and searched for a primary school for my son to start prep next year. Due to our location I only had three options Berwick Primary, Brentwood Park Primary and Berwick chase. Berwick primary responded saying it's full and I added my self to waiting list. out of other two. I didn't like the attitude of the principle of Chase and open class room thing. Brentwood park principle was very good and knew students by name. Also the students seemed well focused even when we were walking around them. So I submitted the enrolment form then and there as we are running out of time. However the schools looks a bit old and I do not see much on it on the forums However today I got a call from Berwick primary saying we have a slot available. Could anyone tell me whether ignoring it and going with Brentwood be a good idea? both schools have good statistics on mySchool website but I still haven't seen Berwick Primary. I am all stressed out with all these including building the house etc. But I really need the best for my son. I need to take a decision very soon Thanks in advance Vilani

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if there is anyone local to the Maudsland area in Gold Coast who is familiar with the local primary schools? We are coming over to Goldie for a month this December to scope out the local area and schools before making our big move over in Spring 2020, however we were hoping for some recommendations and advice from some locals. From the local schools we've looked at online we really like the look of Pacific Pines Primary and Gaven State Primary, but we are of course open to other suggestions too! Just as a bit of background info, we're planning to have a house built in or around the Maudsland area and our son is currently 8 years old and about to start Year 4 in September. He's a high academic achiever in all areas so needs a school where he can be challenged, he also has a love for sports. Thank you so much in advance, we are so excited to make the move next year!

Hello, Our family is coming to Canberra for a few months for work (next week!) and we're looking at renting an apartment in Lyneham. It would be great to get your opinion on what the area is like, and what to look out for - both good and bad. The Lyneham wetland looks great, with walking paths and stuff. If anyone knows anything about schools, that would be good to know too - our children are primary school age. Thanks in advance for your help.

HELP!! Gifted 5yr old from KS1/2 to Kindergarten - Sydney primary schools
Guest posted a topic in Education
Hello, We are moving to Sydney around 2nd week of January 2012 so have started contacting schools to get a place for my 5yr old daughter. She was born in July so currently in KS1 in the UK. However, some of the schools (eg. St Luke's Grammar) I've contacted in Sydney have stated that she'll be enrolled into Kindergarten based on daughter’s date of birth. This really worries us; it'll be a big setback for my daughter if she had to go back to Kindergarten as she has been identified by her current school as a gifted and talented child and is sending her to KS2 class for English and maths. Has anyone else experienced similar situation in the past? Could we ask the school to evaluate my daughter and place her in an appropriate grade based on ability rather than her age? We are mainly looking for catholic and private schools around Northern Beaches as I'm coming on 457 visa. Any help or advise is very much appreciated!
