  1. Is there anyone out there who knows where I can get a professionally prepared resume suitable for Australian employers. I've seen a few companies advertised on the net but would rather go with one thats recommended. How much can I expect to pay for the service and how is it done ? Thanks Danny
  2. I was shopping yesterday and had a thought!! We all try to keep the old shopping bill down by maybe going without certain things or buying cheaper brands. BUT there are those few items that you just refuse to go without or economise on. Heres a few of mine...... Freshly squeezed Orange Juice - can't stand concentrated Toilet Roll - For obvious reasons!! Free Range Eggs - Got to look after those chooks!! What would yours be ?
  3. If you have been away for a while, the motorway traffic will shock you . 4. To cut a long story short! Well I’ll try! When telling my Uncle we had our visa through! Yippee!! (1/7/09) and that it would be either (school hols) Christmas or Easter for the reccie and visa validation trip. It needs to be before 9/5/10 and this summer is too short notice. My Hubby (Dave) had that look in his eye! I knew at that moment that my work permitting we would be going in Aug 09!!!!!!! :jiggy: So ANY advice welcome! Nothing booked! NOT ONE THING!!! We are heading for Victoria Got some prices for flights to Melbourne £2550 for 2 Adults & a 2yr old (30th July -19th Aug) From London. Car 1st price £450 for the whole time we are there (ford focus) might be able to get that down? Not sure were to stay! Geelong has our attention from what we have read on PIO and in books. We would like self catering accommodation/ 2 bedrooms. Dave would like to have 1 base as he’s not keen on packing & unpacking every few days. I thought maybe 2 bases would give us a wider area to have a look around (week or so in each). Dave is a teacher hence school hols I’m an Occupational therapist Our 176 visa was granted on Wed 1st July 09 we plan on moving before our daughter Megan (nearly 2ys) goes to school. Any suggestions? I do have to say one big thank you to Dave for sorting out all the visa paperwork etc! Ruth
  5. Hi guys, Would love to talk to anyone that is currently living in OZ and prepared and then lodged the 176 to get their permanent residency or is currently in the process. I've just passed my IELTS test to get extra points and am just preparing to lodge my skills assessment (Project or Program Administrator - which I'm currently sponsored under on a 457). My Step-Dad or Mum are going to act as my sponsor. I'm a bit overwhelm and not sure where to go next with this, any advice or help would be greatly received. :wubclub:

    All Prepared To Go....

Hi all another update, We secured our rental house a couple of weeks ago now in oz and now we have ordered all rented furniture to be delivered the day we arrive. Ensured our flights arrived in oz in the morning so everything will be delivered in the afternoon. We ordered beds from smart hire (many thanks Liz&Paul) for this recommendation. Appliances have been ordered from Rent In Oz, prices are good from both companies and very helpful. TV we shall buy a new one as we do have plasma on its way but want another for the family area. Same as BBQ we have a pretty decent size gas BBQ (not sure if the connector will fit aus gas bottle though)! We might be able to buy another connector, anyhow we will probably buy a mega BBQ - we do love our BBQ's especially me as I usually do all the cooking but Lee is BBQ king! We have even organised all our utilities to be connected: Gas, Electricity, Water, Internet, Telephone & TV by 1 company - no charges for them to organise all of this just connection fees. Due to all the baggage allowance allowed we are taking kitchen utils etc., bedding even a travel kettle & plastic cups etc., for that lovely cup of tea when we arrive or it might change to champagne!!! Finishing off packing today, then that’s everything, we can just sit back last couple of days and do some visiting. Ellie,LeeNFam :wubclub::cool:
