Hi everyone, This is my first post and my first time on a forum, so I apologise if this is in the wrong place or has already been answered. My girlfriend and I are hoping to move to Oz (most likely Perth), we've just contacted a migration agent and are ready to slowly start the process. I work as an industrial maintenance electrician in a car manufacturing plant, working with PLCs, robots and carrying out electrical fault finding on quite high tech machinery. Would this be electrician general or special class? Is the job market as good as people say? Are the wages really that good? What are the chances of me landing a FIFO job in the mining industry? Any advice or answers to any or all of those questions from someone who's in a similar role or knows someone who is would be greatly appreciated Thanks, Henry

If you have experience in any of the above and would be interested in living and working in Newcastle NSW. Its near Port Stephens and Lake MacQuarie in the Hunter Valley with access to Sydney in two hours (but not Sydney house prices). Port Stephens and Lake MacQuarie are fantastic holiday areas and the Hunter Valley is a world renound wine region. House prices are generally lower than most othe Australian cities. The company I am working for are specifically looking for:- Control Systems Engineer of all levels from a few years post graduate experience to senior people with experience of Rockwell, Siemens or Schneider PLCs, Citect SCADA and or Fieldbus and industrial ethernet. Electrical engineers and drafters again at all levels. Electricians with experience of installation and or commissioning. I will check the posts every few days and hopefully any one looking to migrate can send me their cv. Providing short term accomodation for the right candidates has been mentioned by the companies HR manager.

PLC software / electrical engineer sponsorship. Please help!
Guest posted a topic in Careers and Vacancies
Hello all, long time no post. Has anyone ever had any luck getting sponsorship for the above line of work? For that matter, has anyone EVER had any luck with sponsorship at all?????? Sent ****** hundreds of emails with barely a reply, never mind any interest. Registered with plenty of recruitment agencies, but frankly, they are a dead loss too. I was stunned to learn that with all the experience I have, including doing a five year apprenticeship, it doesn't warrant enough points to go for the PR route which I am absolutely staggered by. I just don't know what else to do. For the record, I have over 20 years experience in industry and automation, and I am looking for sponsorship in the Melbourne area. Anybody offer any help or advice? Or better still - a sponsorship. Andy.-

Hi, does anyone know what the equivalent job title a PLC (programmable logic controller) and SCADA (supervisory control and data aquisition) engineer would be under the list of needed people? Its basically Industrial programming. We produce control systems for various industries such as Water, Chemical, Power Generation, Nuclear Waste Management, etc. I've been doing this kind of work for 9 years for 2 different companies, they titled it as Systems Engineer and simply Engineer. Its the Automation Control subcategory of Process Control in this country. I was also an Electronics Technician for 6 years previous. I hold a degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and to lesser levels HNC and ONC in the same subject. Thanks. Neil
