Obviously when you take your car over to the warm place , you have to get new plates according the their registration process. What I wanted to ask is are the plates the same size as European plates? Or different? What size are they? The reason being , my husbands car has two holes in the boot where his plate is attached by (I think, I should really listen more carefully) and he wants to know if the oz plates are smaller then these holes will be visible , some would like to get them filled in. You maybe wondering why all the fuss, this carbon black 5 series is his pride and joy.

How would I find if the car number plate I have on my car is worth anything (NSW) and is it even possible to sell? The last 3 digits are 007 so was thinking some james bond geek might be willing to buy it... Also, I wouldnt mind looking for one with my own initials on it, where is a place to look? Cheers!!

What do you reckon to personlised number plates, are they just an extension of someone's personality or are they in some way saying, 'Look at me'.. I have had many runs in with many numbty drivers, you know the ones where they believe that indication is for morons, where lane discipline is a sport and not a driving skill, etc, etc. Some had personlised number plates and some didn't, but it 'seems' that those with a private number plates often treated the road as theirs and their alone.:wubclub: I have often sat there in my car and seen some peoples driving that was truly gob smacking, and often the number plate read, 'KING 1' or 'STAG 69' and I would look at these plates and think, 'What that should read is **** 1'. This is a tongue in cheek thread folks, (to a degree) so what do you reckon, personlised number plates, good bad or couldn't care less. Cheers Tony:wink:

Hi everyone, hopefully on my way to Brisbane soon on 457 visa. The house is up for sale and will soon be putting the car up for sale also. I have got personalised plates on my car and I am in a dilemma. My wife bought them for me 4 years ago for my 40th b'day and I don't think I can take them with me for use in Oz. Does anyone know the ruling on this? Cheers Kev
