  2. Hi, My wife and daughter and myself are moving to Sydney/Central Coast next yr. I am a financial advisor in the UK and will be looking to do the same in Oz and I understand that I will have to convert my qualifications. Has anyone got any advice about moving to Oz and working within the financial industry? I am qualified as a mortgage broker and have all my CF exams and will have my diploma when we come over. Thanks for any help
  3. Hi there, Does anyone have an uptodate budget planner that they can share? We are considering a move to Sydney but are trying to work out what all the costs are that we need to factor in each year, and on a monthly basis once we are over there? We'd be coming on a 457 and would benefit from LAFHA. We are planning on $800-$1000 a month for accommodation but don't know where to start with council tax equiv, utilities, car tax, MOTs etc etc. Thanks, Nats

  6. Hi All, My family and I are looking to migrate to Australia as soon as possible, I have passed my TRA Skills Assessment: Supervisor, Communications Tradespersons 4316-01 and my visa has been logged with DIAC, which I am waiting to be processed. I joined British Telecom (BT) in September 1986 as a trainee Telecommunications Engineer on a full time contract. On commencement of employment I was under the supervision of a Senior Engineer who was a fully qualified Telecommunications Technician. I attended college on a day release scheme for three years to gain the National Certificate of BTEC – ONC in Telecommunications Engineering, whilst also gaining on the job training. This enabled me to become a qualified Telecommunications Engineer (Communication Tradesperson). All this training was carried out under supervision and to BT’s strict Health and Safety and Quality standards. I have progressed through BT with promotions on the way, and I am always looking to improve myself for the benefit of the company and customers. My current position is that of, Wideband Planner (Planning the end to end delivery of data / communications over the Fibre Network), I have also worked within the Copper Network in the past. I am actively seeking employment in the Brisbane area, and trying to find a company, who would be willing to Sponsor me (I am prepared to pay for the sponsorship visa, if anyone would be willing to commit to the sponsorship), with a view of a permanent position, while my visa is working its way through the system. My brother and his family as well as my Mum and Dad are already residents of Australia near Cleveland, and we are looking to join them as soon as possible. I visited my brother and his family December 2009 and we are returning again this December 2010 returning home in January 2011, we really appreciated what Australia has to offer us. It has really made us even more determined to migrate. I am enquiring, if anyone knows of any employment vacancies in my line of work. Any help would be very much appreciated. Kind Regards.

  8. I'm sure this has been asked a thousand times before, but does anyone have or know a site which can help you know how much you'll need to move to Oz? I know that I need to consider visa application costs, flights, removals etc. but could do with a comprehensive list. Thanks
  9. Hi everyone Has anyone used or know of a decent financial advisor based around the gold coast. I need someone who is best practced in salary sacrificing for the missus, LAFH knowledgeable for me (already claiming it), tax savvy for claiming stuff (I am an IT contractor) and finally, someone who can assist with mortgage preparation/savings and investment etc. Any help would be appreciated. Regards Sean
  10. I have a postion available that would ideally suit a UK financial planner looking to break into the Australian market. I would be able to provide an environment where you can learn the australian system with a view to becoming a client facing advisor in the short to medium term. This would suit someone with a strong sales background, well on their way to becoming RG146. Send a message or call 0430 506 608 for more information. Keith
