Anyone already living out here & commuting to the CBD??? - rentals look pretty cheap, but assuming that's cos the PT links are crap? Brand spanking new 3-4 bed houses for $300+ - but since other half is gonna be commuting to the Valley - seems like we might have to give it a miss thanks to the 1-1hr 40 commute - unless there is anyone who can convince us this could be an ok move? Cheers Andy & Michelle

Hiya. Arrived here back in February and desperately looking for friends. Ive played house, everyones settled and we really need to get out and about and meet people. Starting to feel a little bit lonely, OH at work all day, kids at school and only so much housework and Oprah to while away the day. Im Jenny (38), OH Dean (38) and 4 kids - 16, 9, 7 & 2. Looking to meet up with the girls for coffee and a natter and also as a family for bbq's / days out with other families etc. So if anyones interested please message me. Bye for now. Jen -
Greenbank RSL (Browns Plains) Anyone else been to Greenbank RSL - we went there whilst on holiday in June, it's fab - you couldn't find a place like it here in Scotland. It was just one of the things that sealed our decision in moving to OZ that along with the sun, houses, possibility of job, family, things to do as a family.... the list is endless. Can't wait to get over but it's going to be ages yet.

Hi we just moved here to Brisbane last week, got a rental in Drewvale and been looking at schools for my five year old. Been to visit Brown Plains State School and it seems nice but is a bit dated the teachers seemed nice and the kids seem happy from what we saw but does seem less modern than some of the schools in areas like stretton and calamvale. I've heard the some parts of the area can be rough and undesirable this info was from local people but do you not get that in lots of areas in Uk. Im really confused as this school is handy, near a nursery for my 1 year old and the school itself has a before and after school club. Any info from anyone would be great or is there anyone who has first hand experience of having their kids at this school. I just want Liam to be happy, safe and have a good education, I suppose like any other parent wants. :arghh: Cheers Louise
