  1. Hi Guys, I sit here in a dilema, I am a new father to an 8 month old little boy and am living in Australia working in the best jobI have ever had. My wife though wants us to break up! She has been suffering from depression somethingI have tried my best to support, so much so I feel like I have no life outside of work or home. I dont go out so I make sure she can and look after my little man so she gets a break with all my free time. My wife's depression has taken its tollon her to the point she thinks that there is no option but to split. I don't personally think it will help her but I can't stop this. Now I know that I will have to notify DIAC when push comes to shove but I just want to know what chance do I have of staying in Aus! My littleboy is my only son and a citizen of Australia and obviously I will want access to him and what i believe will satisfy the term used in all DIAC info of 'parental responsibility.' Does anyone know what my odds are of staying? the DIAC website says that my case 'may' have grounds for PR being granted anyway, being that I am on a Temp Partner Visa and we have a child we will share 'Parental Responsibility' for. I can't find anyoneout there who knows anything on this subject but surely the Aussie Gov won't take me away from my son, there has been no abuse just a breakdown. It sickens and saddens me I have to ask this but any info to calm a fathers mind would be greeted incredibly warmly. I look forward to any feedback and knowledge on this subject. Thanks
  2. Hello, Thank you in advance to anyone who can help us with our queries.. My partner and I are currently in the process of completing our forms for a Partner Migration visa, I currently hold permanent residency however I have been back and forth from Aus for the past 4 years as I came back to the UK for university as I was not entitled to any H.E.L.P. support with tuition fees down under... ( In that time I have been back on 3-4 month holidays etc, however two years ago I met my partner (who now wants to emigrate) and ended up living with him in the UK, currently still living together and have been for 15 months. We have been to aus in this time but we are just wondering if I satisfy the requirement of being ' usually resident in Australia ' as I have been out of the country on and off. My goals have always been to move back to Australia after university, just being a normal human being I met someone who after 2 years now wants to do make this move back with me. My entire family lives in Perth so we have a strong foundation for moving out there. I just hope that I am still entitled to my permanent residency status. I have checked VEVO on the immi website and I know I have no restrictions on my visa, my PR was granted in January 2012. I hope someone can help us, this is the only niggle we have regarding the application!! Thanks again, Lauren and Paul
  3. Hello all!! Quick question, I know you can apply for PR after 2 years in Australia. However, does anyone know if these 2 years have to be back to back? Or can you do one year, have a gap abroad, then another year? I've done 18months in Aus, been back in UK for 3 years, and want to head back on sponsorship. I'm wondering if I can apply for PR after 6 months and include my time in the country a few years ago. Thanks very much! Jen
  4. Dear, I am Arun, recently received my PR for Aus. I am a Civil enginner. I have 4+ years of experience in India in construction industry and currently working as Manager-Planning in India. My Academics is post graduate in Civil and Structural Engineering from UTS, Australia. I'm terrified, as one of my mates from Sydney has told me that the chances are really tough to get a job in Aus.:err: So I would like to know what are the chances of getting an opportunity in Australia to work full time, in Construction industry? And also what improvement shall I make before coming down to Aus (Im still in India, preparing to come in Oct'2014)? All your suggestions are welcome and greatly regarded
