    Skill assessment and RPL Drama...

[h=2][/h] I had my Skills assessed by ACS and the assessment recognised my Bachelors of commerce as comparable to Aus Bachelors degree with insufficient ICT content and therefore doesnt meet requirements for a qualification as prescribed in PIM3. ACS however recognised my Work Experience. I am once again considering applying for skill assessment ( 261112 SYSTEMS ANALYST) and also filled the PASA Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) doco in which I have to submit Project reports. My Qualification (Bachelors of Commerce ) and RPL and Work Exp (6 Yrs 2 Mths relevant skill) are now ready for Skills assessment.. I consulted this with a lawyer and his opinion is that the ACS may award a skill assessment but may knock off a couple of Yrs from my W.Exp setting off the ICT content. Is this correct.. Opinions pls.. If that is the case,it will be difficult to apply for PR under subclass 175 as I may lose points for my W.Exp.

    Interpret ASC PASA outcome

I had applied for ASC pre application skills assessment in october 2009. Its outcome is as follows: +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Your work experience has been calculated as follows: Dates : 10/01 - 01/05 (3 yrs 3mths) Position: Faculty Employer: NIIT ... Dates : 08/05 - 10/09 (4 yrs 2mths) Position: Senior Software Engineer Employer: ... Pte Ltd ................. ................. Your skills have been assessed to be suitable for migration under 2231-79 (.Net Technologies Specialist) of ASCO Code, being the skilled occupation indicated that you intend to nominate in a General Skilled Migration application. based on the provided certified documentation it is the opinion of the ACS that the application has 12 months experience in .NET Technologies. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ It states 4Yrs and 2mths at above but later it says 12 months. I want to start with my quest for migration and apply for ACS assessment. I need at least 5 years of work experience, but these two lines are confusing me if I have required experience or not. I had also asked a question here to know if I can get my experience assessed against lower qualifications. Thanks.
  4. Evening all, I have to totally re-do my ACS Application (as old one expired and due to all the new changes somehow can no longer reapply for extension) so what joys that is..but have a serious question regarding it all (for anyone who has done the ACS PASA process). My question is (as its changed so much) is for all those who applied with Microsoft Certified qualifications (as these are now much more widely recognised than previously)..are they actually legit to go through under category B assessment? My first attempt to get ACS approval was under Category B with an old BTEC Diploma in computer Studies, and they failed it, but gave me the chance to do RPL instead. Now since the new PASA rules, they've widened it all up and seems to say it recognises my particular MCP qualification for Microsoft Certified Technology specialist (see page 21 of pasa guidelines for all those interested). Of course my current agent isnt really qualified for skills assessment with IT (as they outsource it at £1000) so would rather do the PASA myself then proceed with them once thats in the bag. any info on others experiences is (as always) greatly received and you'll have my debt Many thanks Jamie
  5. I am applying online Online Pre-application Skills Assessment ( PASA) . Company Where I had worked is not giving me reference letter, therefore I am submitting statutory declaration. To support my stattutory declaration, I am submitting following documents)certified and notorized) Paylslips (last 6 month) Increment letters Appointment letter Form16 (mandatory document issued by employer to its employee to file the IT return every financial year end). Are above proofs sufficent ? I am also submitting reference letter from supervisor on plain paper undersigned by him. .Is this proof valid since it is on plain paper.? Kindly advise
  6. Hi all, This is my first post on this forum, so apologies if I have broken any forum rules here, but here goes.... Myself and my girlfriend want to migrate to Melbourne as her mother lives in Dromana. We have applied for visas under my gfs marketing masters qualification, with me as a de facto partner, which was going fine until marketing was removed from the skill shortage list in June of this year. The visa process was around 1 year through and going well, but since June we have been stopped in our tracks. Our Melbourne based solicitor now feels our only option is to apply for residency under my skills (with my gf as de facto) which is where the fun really begins. I am an SAP Basis Architect and have been in this specialist field for over 8 years (I’m 30), holding down 4 consultancy based jobs during that time. However I do not have any qualifications to my name, other than A-levels! I've never have any issues finding employment in the UK, my CV and experience speaks for itself, but I'm concerned how I'll get on when applying for our Australian visas. 2 questions I'm really asking here; 1. Does anyone have any experience or know of someone who does, in migrating to Australia with SAP skills (especially Basis)? 2. Has anyone have a similar lack of qualifications to me, but still managed to be assessed successfully by PASA? Many thanks for reading my post and I would welcome any information that you feel may be beneficial to our application. Yours in hope.... Gary

    Our Journey

Hi All This is our first post .. only really doing this because it might help other people in similar situations and provides a way for us to track our own progress here. We are a family of 6, me my wife and 4 daughters :-) 2006 We started to talk about moving to Australia, alot was happening and changing in our lives and its only now that we have started the process towards reaching our dream (4 years later!). There is alot to read, certainly not 4 years worth! but it just didnt feel right until now. Step 1 - Get Assessed by ACS (FORM PASA 1.0 - GENERAL) 08 May 2010 - Sent off to ACS, Australian Computer Society the request for General Skilled Migration assesment, lots of paperwork and certification needed, not to mention the cost £240 GBP! I noticed after sending this form, there are other forms you can send instead (claim you are on MODL/Exclude employment experience from decision). What was needed? FORM PASA 1.0 (General) which you download PAYMENT (Either Cheque or VISA details) Certified copies of the following BIRTH CERTIFICATE OR PASSPORT HIGHER LEVEL EDUCATION CERTIFICATES AND RESULTS (TRANSCRIPTS) FOR EACH SUBJECT(DEGREE, A LEVELS, DIPLOMAS, VOCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS) EMPLOYER REFERENCES RESUME HELPFUL BUT NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR REFERENCES! Secondary/High School Qualifications: Dont send them, not interested! YOU WOULD THINK: That a certified copy of an Academic Certificate would be enough, but breaking it down into what mark you got each subject, taught x years ago seems quite unreasonable to me, how many people have/keep this extra information?! Fortunately I had the majority of the transcripts to supplement the actual award. Also think asking for more than one up-to-date reference isnt practical and should not be needed. Succesfull assessment/points would allow us to get the following type of VISA Skilled - Independent (subclass 175) Skilled - Sponsored (subclass 176) Once we get employer sponsorship Skilled - Regional Sponsored (subclass 475) Skilled - Recognised Graduate (subclass 476) My ASCO codes were: 2231 & 1224. These being the most relevant to my occupation and professional career. One thing I noticed straight away, was that the form (PASA 1.0 General) they required was alot more comprehensive than the original back in 2008! They really dig into all aspects of your academic and professional work experience now. For example, the need for comprehensive references to back-up employment was also abit worrying because they want a reference for every job/role you ever held and on official company letterhead paper! So what happens when a previous employer is no longer trading and/or you didnt get a reference? I have been in my current management/technical position, within a high profile organisation for over 3 years and is the only reference I can provide to them. I noticed afterwards, yet another form you can send which requests the employment experience not to be taken into consideration .. so lets trust that wont be needed because they would charge you another £240! What happens next? On their form they state a minimum of 12 weeks (a full quarter) before a decision, although in practice this is normally much quicker depending on how well you completed the form and provide the supplementary (signed/witnessed) documentation. So now just need to wait for the result, will let you know when it arrives! :-)) ELLIS

    Accountant? ICAA PASA advice plz

Hi everyone. This is my first posting - partner has done one or two on PIO and you've all been very helpful. I have a query re the certified documents required by the ICAA for Pre-Application Skills Assessment (PESA). The guidelines state that all documents must be certified as true copies of originals for the purposes of tertiary (university) degree skills assessment. To substantiate the syllabus studied I am submitting copies of the handbooks for each subject. Trouble is this amounts to some 40 pages in total and will be relatively expensive to have each individual page certified. Has anyone been through this with the ICAA and of so did you have your degree subject handbooks certified or did the ICAA accept uncertified copies? Any suggestions most welcome :goofy: Many thanks, Helen
