  1. Hi Sir/Madam, Can anyone please let me know that whether we can run 175 and 176 visa applications in parallel? I have a ongoing 175 visa application but I have obtained sponsorship from the state too. Can I re-lodge a fresh application for 176 (paper-based) when I have 175 in progress instead of withdrawing? Kindly advice.
  2. Hello everyone, I am new to Aussie Immigration. Also waiting for NSW SMP to come out that seems to be taking ages now. as SMP quotas are limited, I don't want to wait for eternity for NSW SMP while other state quotas are running out. My question is can we apply for another SMP (e.g. victoria's) while waiting for NSW? and if I apply for Vic's SMP now, and later want to lodge another for NSW's; will it be a problem?
  3. I want to know if makes sense: I have lodged my 175 visa application in January and I have to wait three years for a decision. In the meantime i can apply for a 475 because my skill is only on regional list. After i receive the 475, I can wait for 175 in OZ. In the GSM booklet it is written that “If you apply for more than one visa, the visa granted last will generally be the visa in effect, and the visa granted first will no longer be valid.” Please share your thoughts. Thank you.
  4. Experts, please helpppppppppp I lodged my 175 application 1 year ago with Industrial Engineer occupation (non-CSL, non-MODL, not sponsored), and my application is one of the last priorities. Today I received Victorian government state sponsorship for another occupation (plant engineer) which is in CSL. Now I am double minded whether to lodge a 2nd 176 CSL sponsored application with plant engineer occupation or not? Necessary to add that I have sufficient skills and experience in both occupations and my final destination in Australia is Victoria. I have also checked with DIAC and they have confirmed in writing that it is possible to have a 175 and a 176 visa application in parallel, however a separate application fee needs to be paid for each. Please kindly advise, Siavash
  5. Hi Gill, In my other thread ( http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/70564-possible-change-current-175-visa-application-475-a.html ) I promised to come back to you once I receive DIAC’s written answer to the above mentioned question, here it is…. I just received the reply today, I am sharing it here as it might be useful for others as well. If you wish to lodge a separate application under a different skills assessment with an Occupation that is on the critical skills list so that you can have prioritized processing then that will be a separate application with a new fee and can be as a 176 application if you can meet the sponsorship requirements as set out previously. That application can be in place at the same time as the current 175 application but will need to be lodged by paper as the e-lodgement system will not allow more than one e-lodged application to be in place. For any further enquiries about the application you have lodged please refer to our website using the following link http://www.immi.gov. au/contacts/visa-enquiries/professionals.htm Yours sincerely, R Butler for Cheers, siAvAsh
  6. Hi everybody, I lodged a 175 non-CSL non-MODL application 8 months ago, is that possible to lodge a 176 in parallel to my current 175? I am aware that I can convert my current 175 to 176 but since my occupation is not on CSL it is not of much value now. Thanks for your help, siAvAsh
  7. Gill, Alan, please help… work and student visa in parallel? I applied for 175 in Feb.2009 and my occupation is neither CSL nor MODL. I applied for WA SS 3 months ago and am still waiting for the outcome, though with new processing rules it’s not of much value anymore. I just would like to know if there is any negative impact if in parallel I apply for a student visa. Thanks for your advice, siAvAsh
