  1. Hi, can you work in allied health with a 417 working holiday visa?
  2. Hi there! I've researched into the 189 visa for an occupational therapist, but I'm still confused on how I would be supervised and assessed for the visa without having a visa (desktop 2). I read that being assessed and applying for the visa are 2 separate things so I'm not sure on how this process works. Would I need a different visa completely while I'm being assessed? Also I presume the assessment needs to take place in Australia? Anyone who has been through this process please could you enlighten me as I'm struggling to find clarity on this. Many thanks, Eloise
  3. Hi everyone, I am intending to move to Melbourne (from London) in Jan 2014 to work as an OT for a year. I am finding it really difficult to find any information/guidance about working as an OT on a working holiday visa. Does anyone know if 1) It is actually possible, and if so 2) How hard it is to find a short-term contract/locum work? I would rather not go down the Skilled Migration route if I don't have to, as it is just for a year. On the other hand, I don't want to get out there with my OT registration to find it is impossible to actually get short-term work! And advice at all would be greatly appreciated!
  4. Hi folks, new member who is looking at the prospects of shipping out to Oz to work as an OT (doesn't seem to be too many of us on here but hopefully someone can provide a bit of info) I have passed my UK degree as an (im)mature student 40yrs old :frown: and will be looking at moving solo, was possibly looking at SA (Adelaide?) as I have family there. Experience wise I had 5 years in OT TI role and am just closing in on my first year post qual. I am applying for the IELTS and have a general grasp of the COTRB registration thing. What are the job prospects like and approx what sort of wage does the role command out there?? I don't expect I'll be rolling in it but comfortable would be nice, and the weather is surely a bonus?? Many thanks to anyone that can provide a bit of advice Thanks Mat
