Hi everyone ~ Are there any other dietitians out here who have recently sat the written MCQ exam to have their overseas credential recognized in Australia? I just received notice that I passed the assessment to register for the March 2018 exam. It's been a few years (ahem ~ ) since I took the registered dietitian exam in the US, and I'm really not sure what to expect, and how much to prepare, for the Australian APD exam. I haven't found the DAA materials particularly helpful and their "sample exam" is only 5 questions. Anyone else have a better idea of what to expect? Thanks in advance, SO MUCH! ~ lulu
Hello there Just wondering if there are any nutritionists on the forums. I know there a loads of dietitians out there but what about those of you who aren't eligible for APD accreditation? * have you joined the NSA or other organisation * have you managed to get public liability/ prof indemnity insurance * are you in private practice/ self employed? * researcher/ community health or other occupation! I'm based in the Sydney area (Sutherlandshire) and would love to meet up with other Nutritionists (or dietitians) in Sydney Thanks Dr Shellsparkles (Michelle)
Hi everyone! Well I just joined this Forum and I already find it very helpful even though I am from Slovenia not the UK . I was visiting my brother in Perth over the winter and I fell in love with Australi. I decided that after finishing my studies I would try to move there. So I am doing my research on what I have to do till then and how to do it :cute: I see there is alot thing I have to do before. First of all I have to do my studies - one more year and I'll finish my MSc of Nutrition. I saw there are not alot of jobs for a Nutritionist there in Australia, so I am thinking of going to a 3 year school for Nursing, so that I won't end up without a job. Does anybody have any good experience about any of the two occupations in Australia, do you have any good advice for me? Maybe anybody know how much does it cost with all the expenses to get the visa and what visa would be best for me? And when to apply, before I finish my studies or after? I already have a BSc in Food Technology and Nutrition - already a skilled migrant I think There is so many things I have to look at and so many information to go trough, I feel a bit lost. I am really happy to find this site. If there is anybody who has any advice for me I would be really happy to hear it. Have a nice day :wubclub: Mojca
