    WHV to Permanent Visas?

Hi, My wife is a qualified nurse and we wanted to emigrate to Oz however we don't want to give up our jobs here in England without secure employment. What we want to do is come out on a Working holiday visa, Keeping our jobs open back home, and then if we find suitable employment. applying for permanent residency. We wondered if anyone on here had done this and how easy and cost effective it was to move on to skilled residency visa from Oz. Thank You
  2. Hi, is there anyone out there who can offer me some advice please??? I am a registered adult nurse with 1 year experience. Moving to aus (hopefully Brisbane if i can find work there but I'm flexible) on a working holiday visa. Ive registered with AHPRA etc and due to fly out in 2 months. I would love to work in a public hospital, my background is in burns but would love experience on a variety of acute wards. What is the best way to go about finding a job? Not sure where to start, so many nursing agencies on google, does the main hospital in Brisbane use one particular agency for bank nurses or does it have its own supply of bank nurses? If so how do i go about joining. Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you  poppy

    Nursing salary in NSW

Hi I'm a band 6 mental health nurse prescriber working in the Uk. I am considering immigrating to Sydney on a 457 visa. i realise this question has been asked before about the salaries for nurses in Sydney and NSW. However I was wondering if anyone could give me a rough estimate of the weekly pay after deductions such as tax? I have 8 years experience and would on $72000 according to NSW healthcare pay rates. I was also wondering if australia recognised the nurse prescriber qualification I studied in the UK? i would be grateful if anyone could give me any information. thanks

    Moving to Perth

Hi all, we are the Clarke family - currently living in Norfolk, England. We are hoping to move to Perth in the next two years and will be starting our application process in January. I am a qualified nurse and my husband works in computers. We have a 2 year old daughter. I have family already settled in Perth but wanted to ask others about thier experiences in applying. My husband has no degree or diploma but many years of experience in IT and is in a very good role at present in UK and has great references - will his lack of qualifications hinder the application? For those of you that have young children - how hard was it to settle them? Is it easy to enrol them in school? :jiggy:
  5. Hi everyone, Firstly I would like to say thank you to everyone that has posted on here, although i feel like i'm eavesdropping some of the discussions have greatly helped me in my migration process. Anyway a little more about me and my situation - I am a registered mental health nurse that qualified in August 2010, got my first position in November 2011 and started to apply to move to Australia in the November. After some initial enquiries we found that it could take up to or over 12 months to get everything ready to move, but as I was so newly qualified this was not such a bad thing as the longer it took the more experience I would have and the more likely I was to gain employment. (On the employment side, I had already lived in Australia on a working holiday visa a few years back therefore I needed to find a hospital to sponsor me.) Anyway it is now April and I have a firm job offer and all I am waiting is for my registration to go through and my Visa to be sorted then I should be off to Melbourne in September! I can not wait! I thought I would let myself be known on the forums and as I have been through quite a bit of the process if any other newbies have any questions feel free to message me.
  6. Hi we have just started the process of emigrating to Aus, I mean just started, A couple of calls have been made. We have 2 dogs that are coming with us and we have had some great feed back regarding that aspect of the move. My girlfriend is a Czech Nurse but registered here in the UK with the NMC and has been so for 5 years. I am a ODP qualified in the UK 15 Years ago, we are both keen to get out to AU as soon as , obviously after we sell the house . We was wondering does anyone have some info on how long it will take us to get there and what type of Visa will be required . Does it realy take 2 years ! Or is there another option ? If there are any Czech nurses working in Oz , any info or help would be great. All the best Ale
