North Korea has threatened Australia with nuclear war in a blunt message reminding Malcolm Turnbull that the nation is in range of a catastrophic strike. The rogue state warned Australia against cosying up to the US as Vice President Mike Pence visits - saying that following US moves in the region would be a 'suicidal act'. North Korea's state news agency (KCNA) on Saturday warned Australia not to 'blindly and zealously toe' the US line, while also castigating Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop. An agency spokesman said Ms Bishop has 'spouted a string of rubbish' against North Korea, which puts Australia at risk of a nuclear strike.
PARIS: The French nuclear safety body and local authorities say an explosion has rocked the Marcoule nuclear plant in southern France. It was not immediately clear how serious the accident was, or whether there were any victims or the potential for leaks. Evangelia Petit of the Agency for Nuclear Safety said Monday an explosion had taken place but declined to provide any further details. Officials in the Gard region confirmed Monday’s explosion but also said they could not give any more information. The Marcoule site is located in Langedoc Roussillon, in southern France, near the Mediterranean Sea.
Guest posted a topic in Aussie ChatI think most of us know the situation in Japan at the moment, not only with the earthquake, and following tsunami, but now the nuclear fallout threat seems to be a real possibility at the present time, so with this said, am I being very sceptical when I read and see the news when I say that in some kind of sick way the media is awaiting a catastrophe of massive proportions. Some of you will know how I feel about the media, not a lot of time for them all in all, so with this said is it just me that thinks the media are to some extent rubbing their hands with glee that a truly awful incident 'may' take place. Bugger the consequences to the people not only in Japan, but throughout the bigger area in many different countries. I know I may get slaughtered for this, but just seems to me that the media is awaiting a devastating conclusion to this situation, lets hope the final outcome has a far better result and the press are 'deprived' of another story that would give them carte blanche to 'report' human grief on a massive scale. Cheers Tony.
