Hi all, I'm hoping on of the PMV applicants might have some advice. I'm very nearly ready to lodge my app with AH but both me and my fiancee are waiting for two sets of info. We're both waiting for details from of our phone company(its about a month since I requested call details!!!) and we are also confirming our celebrant and filling in the NOIM form. I've been in touch with a lovely celebrant but read elsewhere on the forum that its advisable to get a letter from the venue confirming a booking also? We have a few places in mind but I'd rather be out there for us both to choose somewhere we both like rather than booking while I'm still in Ireland. So I hope the form and the letter from the celebrant will be sufficient? But my main question is this, how did you fill in the NOIM form? I'm in Ireland, OH is in Sydney, so did you fill in the form send it to Oz or can I sign is and scan it rather than paying the 26e it would cost to post it? Any advice would be mucho appreciated! We've been getting the application together over the last 10 weeks....I'll celebrating getting it lodged let alone granted!!! :biglaugh:
Hi guys, just wondering if anyone out there knows if the NOIM form can be signed by me (uk resident) prior to being in Australia and then sent to my Fiancé for him to fill in and sign, or will my Fiancé ( living in Australia) have to fill in the form, get it signed and witnessed, and i sign it once i land in Australia? I have contacted a marriage celebrant who I am hoping is free for our propsed wedding day, and asked this question ... but i am impatient lol Thanks in Advance
Hi again all, Applying for a Prospective Marriage visa or Partner Visa (not sure yet ) Reading the various relevant British government websites it seems that for an Aussie to marry in the UK one would need a certain visa to enter on that grounds - and/or a Certificate of Approval from the Home Office - and this can take up to 3 months to 'process' aswell. :err: can anyone verify this or advise of an easier way? From other forums I've read we may be best to fly to a country such as Denmark where apparently you only need to be in the country 3 days and minimal costs to marry... again any advice or warnings?? Ideally my fiance and I would marry here or in Europe and then apply for the Partner Visa, as we do not want the risk I suppose of not being granted the Prospective marriage Visa, lower costs overall - and it seems the processing time for a partner visa (offshore) may be shorter? failing this we come to my most important question I suppose - part of the Application for Prospective Marriage says we need a letter of Registration of Marriage including date and venue - which we obtain by lodging and NOIM with a celebrant. That makes sense but nowhere can I find how to actually get this to happen. Being in the UK currently, I'm emailling a few celebrants in Aus to no avail. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Again, thanks for any help with any or all of the matters, Damon.
