Australian economy beats expectations with 3.1% annual GDP growth. The Australian economy has beaten expectations, with very strong 1 per cent growth in the first quarter driving a 3.1 per cent annual increase in GDP. Not as good as during the boom years but still reason to be pleased, just this week had our employment agreement signed off for the next 3 years 4% pay rise per year as well as incremental increases happy days.
peterhuli posted a topic in Aussie ChatI have read around so many threads on getting a new job soon after getting a 856 visa approved. I've read about so many differing views and opinions saying 'you can' or 'its OK' or 'you can't quit before the 3 year obligation is up'. My contract states: 1.5 ENS Obligation You must give an undertaking to continue to work for 'Snake Milker's Bucket Holdings Pty Ltd' for a minimum period of three years in line with the Employer Nomination Scheme programme commencing upon receipt of your permanent residency visa. Could someone please tell me the definitive answer on whether I can quit my job soon after the visa approval and not get into trouble from my employer or DIAC?
Hi everyone, Firstly I would like to say thank you to everyone that has posted on here, although i feel like i'm eavesdropping some of the discussions have greatly helped me in my migration process. Anyway a little more about me and my situation - I am a registered mental health nurse that qualified in August 2010, got my first position in November 2011 and started to apply to move to Australia in the November. After some initial enquiries we found that it could take up to or over 12 months to get everything ready to move, but as I was so newly qualified this was not such a bad thing as the longer it took the more experience I would have and the more likely I was to gain employment. (On the employment side, I had already lived in Australia on a working holiday visa a few years back therefore I needed to find a hospital to sponsor me.) Anyway it is now April and I have a firm job offer and all I am waiting is for my registration to go through and my Visa to be sorted then I should be off to Melbourne in September! I can not wait! I thought I would let myself be known on the forums and as I have been through quite a bit of the process if any other newbies have any questions feel free to message me.
