  1. A MUSLIM diner says he felt “degraded” after he was served pulled pork on his side of chilli fries by staff at a pub. Should the pub apologize? feeling "degraded"
  2. Hi, First of all, many thanks for taking the time to read my message. This is my first post on the forum so please be lenient on me. I am looking for a flat share in Sydney that costs in the range of $400/- per month. Ideally, I would have a bedroom to call me own. But if you think $400/- per month is scraping the bottom of the barrel, feel free to suggest a price and I'll see if I can afford it. Don't hold back just because of the price!!! A bit about me: I am a 32 years old Pakistani guy who has been granted a permanent residence visa recently. I am looking to move to Sydney at the end of September or beginning of October 2012. I am neat, tidy, amicable, and fun to be around with; that said, I do value my personal quiet time a lot. I DO NOT smoke and would like a flatmate who won't smoke in the house. I like to cook and bake and am always interested in learning new recipes. The pic in my profile is the apple pie which I made from scratch... hopefully that will act as an incentive And oh, I am a practicing Muslim and strictly follow the Halal restrictions. And finally, I am totally not a dog person. I will be looking to settle down so I will be using the house address on the drivers license etc. and will be looking to find a job ASAP. So you can expect I'll be around for at least an year - but don't hold me on that!!!
  3. The first La Trobe 13 graduates in the Master of Islamic Banking and Finance and Islamic Banking Professional Development courses have successfully secured employment after completing their studies. The statistics show 55% of graduates have found employment in the finance industry, with several taking up managerial roles with institutions such as Deloitte, NAB, ANZ Bank and Shell. Graduates have taken up academic positions in Australia and overseas, are working with Embassies and are in advisory roles with a well-established Muslim financial institution.
  4. One of the plus points of this forum is interacting with people from different backgrounds, occupations, countries, people who have different viewpoints and interests from mine etc,it is for me anyway. I can agree or disagree with their opinions,or sometimes just realise that some things they say i agree with but some not,IE... everything isnt black or white, basically yer can get educated/enlightened off people you wouldnt normally mix with,as long as you've got an open mind that is of course. So one of the things ive never got my head round is why more of the above dont get involved in the more light hearted debates on here,or even some of the more controversial threads(with the exception of a few members)in CTF etc, seems a shame because i'd like their viewpoints, and maybe their different take on things, just wondering out loud.........

  6. Can I just say that whilst there has been a bit of debate recently, thank God it has calmed down now, what a pleasure it is to see that not one thread or post has concerned the so called Muslim problem. It seemed at one stage that Muslims, pros, cons, negatives, positives, was the ONLY thing being discussed. I'm not saying it shouldn't be debated but I think most of you will agree that it is a nice change to not get into any arguments or discussion about the above matter. I am now beginning to enjoy PIO a little more. Not that I never enjoyed it anyway, but at certain times the Muslim threads did seem to take over a bit. And no this is NOT meant to start a debate about the Muslim community. It is just nice that we are for the most part getting along without constant back biting about a so called problem that is always going to be there. Long may it reign to a degree. A far happier place is PIO when certain issues are put to one side and debated not so much. Cheers Tony:wubclub::wink:
