  1. Hello everyone, I hope all of you are doing well. I would like to ask for some advices and information in one matter. I am about to get a PR visa to live in Australia and I would like to know the faster way to bring my mother to Australia, even if it is firstly as a tourist or student or something similar. Of course what I want is her to get a resident visa as well but due to the fact that my country (Venezuela) is going through for a really difficult situation and it is extremely unsafe I need to take my mom from Venezuela as soon as possible. In addition, I have three siblings and at the moment I would be the only one who would have a PR in Australia so we do not meet the requirement that says that half of the sons must be PR in Australia to bring a parent. I know this is not easy but please I would appreciate any help any of you could give me, I am really worry because, as I said before, Venezuelan situation is worse and worse every day. Thank you in advance for your help!!!!
  2. Hi Everyone, We arrived last Monday being bought over by my husbands new company - All good as we have had our visas for 3 years now and were planning to make the move on our own next year. All a lot easier having the comapny organise everything. Had a bit of a nightmare as my youngest has been so ill since we arrived we've had her at the hospital with a gastro virus - not a great start. I have two other kids Jude who is 6 and Rio who is 3 - Kaia is 1. Keith starts work on Monday and I am just dreading it, I have friends on the Gold Coast but no-one around Brisbane, have to entertain the 3 kiddies with out going mental myself. Cannot get them into nursery or school until we have a permanent address and we are in an apartment in the city for the next 3 weeks !!! AAgghhhh! Limited toys, small apartment, no friends.. Help! So happy to be here and love it so far just would love someone to chat to and hang out with and some friends for the kiddies. We thought we were going to Melbourne until 4 days before we left UK, then hubbys company had a change of hear at the last minute (though Brisbane was our first choice!). I had actually made contact with few moms on Melbourne but have had no time to do any research or make any contacts in Brisbane at all. Think I may be feling a tad lonely next week:unsure: Please get in touch if you are up for a meet up - sure any mom can relate - cheers for now Faye x
  3. Hi Just a quickie. Does anyone know how I would go about sending say $200 to my lad who has no abode (doing the campervan thing). He has a Commonwealth bank account and we have a Building Society account here in UK. Is there a simple way to do this. he doesn't have an address where we could send funds to. :arghh:Kids!!!. Cheers Jasp
  4. Hi everyone My hubby has no quals but it training for his NVQ II, as a plant operator. So we are finding it difficult to find a SOL that covers what he does. Same situation as many of you. Maybe the second draft of the new TRA that supposely is being looked at in September will bring back a Pathway D in some form, perhaps thats why they didn't start the new one, because they realised that they were cutting out a huge workbase of people. We can hope can't we! I have gone back to work needs must, and looks like work are willing to put me forward for some qualifications, ECDL. Any idea's what this is to the Australians. I am also doing an NVQ II hopefully in Business & Customer Service. So that if we fail on my husbands maybe we can get in through me. It doesn't hurt to try does it! All the best to those going, trying to go or indeed have gone. I wish you all well in your dream of a new life.:wubclub:
