I have some doubt regarding how will the points offer for specific work experience. "60 point occupation and three years work experience in the last four years in a closely related occupation. " If the work experiance is mix of schedule 3 & 4 jobs. Let say last 24 months in schedule 3 and before that 24 months in schedule 4 job. How many points will I get ? Thnks guys .... :wideeyed::eek:
  3. Dear All, See the below statement under link: http://www.immi.gov.au/employers/anzsco/transitional-arrangements.htm Quote: Applications with a mix of ASCO and ANZSCO information To ensure that prospective visa applicants and employers who want to sponsor or nominate someone under the skilled visa program are not disadvantaged, legislation and policy guidelines have been developed to allow ASCO-based documents and information to be accepted after the introduction of ANZSCO in certain circumstances. Examples: A nomination or visa application lodged after 1 July 2010 will have an ANZSCO nominated occupation, but the applicant might submit an ASCO skills assessment they had previously obtained from an SAA, provided that the skills assessment is still valid. A visa applicant who lodged their application before 1 July 2010 with an ASCO nominated occupation, may need to submit an ANZSCO skills assessment if it is subsequently obtained after 1 July 2010. Unquote: So we , who's application already received by DIAC before 1 July 2010, don't need to resubmit ????????? -------------------------------------------------------------------- CAT-475, wait for SA SMP list

    Visa Mix Up

Hello everyone, My Name is Rachel and im trying my best to navigate my way through the visa process , My husband applied for a 175 general migration visa in May last yr, on the code 2129-79, but we had already started to fill in the online application form before we were given the correct engineers code which is 2129-79, but he thought his code was going to be 2126-11 Mechanical engineer so he put this in temporarily until we had confirmation from Engineers australia that the code would be that of 2129-79 building engineer professional. Weve just been granted state sponsorship from NSW on this 2129-79 code, but have found we have made a mistake on the online application form, although we put the right Asco code of 2129-79 we didnt correct the nominated occupation to that of building engineer professional, it was an honest mistake to make, but Diac are querying the error, NSW have informed us that our sponsorship 176 could be invalid due to this mistake. What i would like to know is this, If we have the right asco code and all the correct code identifcation, do you think Diac would be willing to except this mistake and just swap the job discription to that of a building engineer professional? We have sent emails last night apologising for this mistake, we now have the long wait over the weekend and several further days to find out what they will do about this. I just wanted to know whether anyone else has an opinion on what the outcome would be of this error. Or better still to tell me that im not the only one who has done this  Kind Regards Rachel
  5. Hi All, This has been a great forum with tons of useful information, just thought we'd introduce ourselves, and join in the fun with all the up's and down's of the migration adventure to Oz. We're Scott and Dina from Toronto, Canada. After planning our future together, we decided on Australia as a good place to try and settle down as a new family. Neither of us has been to Australia yet, so we're sure there will be some new little surprises, but we're both flexible to make adjustments on the fly! We've submitted our application for 175 visa using Dina's skills assessment as an Accountant. We're not quite CSL yet, as we discovered that our IELTS had a 6.5 score, and it must be all 7's to qualify. We have applied online without an agent, and we've gathered some interesting insights that we'll share where we can on this forum... Couple of things that comes to mind: 1) Regarding Police Clearances... check how long it takes to get one from each country that you need it from (12 months residency or longer), and adjust accordingly. We decided to Front Load ours from Russia first since it can take months to receive the results. Canada can produce them in 4 days. Last thing you want is to tack on a couple months to the visa process unnecessarily. 2) Medical exams... even though it says to do your medical exams right after your application online, there does not seem to be any penalty for not doing it right away... by doing it so early we are at risk of having a short time window to fly over to validate the visas. This was the only thing that we found not clear about the online process. 3) Uploading documents with the online application. We found it more reassuring to submit electronic documents via email, since we automatically received a confirmation that the documents were received. 4) We are becoming experts with the IELTS test. Luckily in Canada, you can take it repeatedly, and usually with only 5 business days notice. 10 days wait for the results. That's it for now. Based on the ever-changing info/requirements, we think that we'll be flying over Sept / Oct 09 to Sydney to get set up. Can't do much for jobs etc until the visa is processed. Anyone else headed to Sydney in that time frame, looking forward to hearing from you. Cheers all, Scott & Dina
