    The New Apple IPad Mini

Apple is developing a low-cost iPad, which could appear in early 2012, says Ticonderoga Securities analyst Brian White. White calls it an "iPad mini," because he thinks it will be priced in the "mid-to-high $200 range." The size of the iPad mini could be exactly the same, White doesn't necessarily think it's smaller*. The iPad mini would help Apple fend off the challenge of Amazon's $200 Kindle Fire.

  4. Not sure if anyone will be able to help me, but I am trying to decide whether to ship my mini to Melbourne as I am running out of time to sell it here and looking at the price of second hand cars in Melbourne, I was shocked to find how expensive they are! I have been quoted $3,895.00 which includes GST to ship, plus insurance will be 4% of full declared value and then I assume I have to pay something on the full declared Value of consignment, but I have no clue, as to how much or little this could be........... does anyone know anything about this? My car is worth around £9,000 if I sold it here in the UK, but I searched for a used mini on the mini.com.au website and found one 06 reg, which had a selling price of $40,000!!! this is only a year younger than mine. Needless to say I was very shocked, but now wondering whether my car will be valued over the odds once arriving into Melbourne? Is it all worth it? Any advice or previous experience shared would be grately appreciated, as I am finding it all so comfusing! Thank you..........

    Mini And Mercedes

Hello We are due to leave in the coming weeks HOPEFULLY! At present i have two vehicles an 05 Mercedes CLS350 and a 05 Mini Cooper s Convertable. If I were to sell these vehicles in the UK's current climate i would realise a loss of close to 12k which is not to different to the cost to have the vehicles shipped with taxes etc. I have a couple of questions. I have read a couple of posts indicating you could not sell the vehicles in Oz. Is that the case? Has anyone shipped a vehicle on a 457 visa. thanks in advance for any responses.
  8. Just received confirmation that John will be doing his Vetassess practical in Feb! One little step closer, never thought we would get there thanks to all the set backs, one being royal mail taking a week to deliver the paperbase even though it was sent first class next day delivery, and cutting it fine for the dead line, just scraped by, Woo hoo x:yesxmas:

Mini Rant about renting in Oz

Well I had my first experience with the lovely dealings of renting in Australia. OMG... I can't believe how picky they are when it comes to vacating the premises. We were in our temporary rental for all of 5 weeks and yet we had to pay to have the carpets cleaned. They went through the Final inspection of day of handing over the keys and what a joke... we had spent 3 hours cleaning the place till it shone...not good enough for the owners, all they good say was it needs a good cleaning. This never happens in Canada, you pay a security deposit, in case you do major damage to the unit. Here it seems they nitpick every little detail. I spoke to a girl at work who moved from the UK 2 years ago, and I guess this is really common here in Australia. She mentioned that her first year renting was an absolute nightmare. So now we are on tender hooks to see if we get our bond back ($2000). I will be so upset if we don't get it back. The lesson I have learned from this lovely experience, is that it makes me even more determined to buy our own house sooner. What a joke there rental system is... Oh well mini rant over... on the other hand, I am loving my new job and life here in Perth...so as the aussies would say... No Worries LOL Karen

    Mini

Hello. This is my first time asking a question. I have seen the other posts regarding taking a car but was wondering if anyone has used the Roll On Roll Off service. I would like to take my Restored Mini with me to Perth but am very nervous of it getting damaged as a lot of time, blood and sweat has gone into it ( much to my OH annoyance). Any advice would be much appreciated.

  16. Hi , I need someones help, I would like to own a 2000 or 1999 mini cooper , the only way that these cars ( under 15 yrs old ) can come into Australia now is Via a personal import, To do this you must have owned it for 12 mths and able to prove that you and the car were in the UK , then you can bring the car into OZ no problems then sell it. These cars sell in the UK for @ 6000 pounds, I would pay 15- 18,000 Australian $ ( bucks) if it was a clean unit. If you can help or know someone who may help me please email me Also I own a stainless fabrication shop and looking for welders and polishers all the time, Location is Morningside Brisbane , which is 5 KLMs from the city. email dodgeram@bigpond.com Craig
