Hi All, Moving to Perth just been offered a job with 457 visa attached and Im looking at maximising my take home pay. Moving is my wife (not working initally), 2 kids (aged 9 and 7 years) and me who will be working. Salary $95k ($87k base and $7k superannuation). 1. Do I have to pay the Medicare levy if im on a 457 visa and will have to purchase Private Medical policy?? 2. I've used the tax calcs to get an idea of take home pay etc, but can you advise if there is anything I can and should be off-setting my tax with?? 3. Is there any tax credits that I can claim for raising kids etc like in UK? 4. Does anyone use or take advantage of the Living Away from Home Allowance??? 5. I am getting some redunancy from work in the UK, how should I bring this money into Auz to avoid paying tax on it? Best Regards Karl
