Hi all! I got permanent residency for Western Australia about four weeks ago and since then I've had butterflies in my tummy about moving back there. I traveled around Oz on a working holiday visa years ago and loved it. I never settled back home after that amazing experience. But what is Perth like when you actually live there? Is it easy to make new friends and get a permanent job? Are the locals generally easy going and friendly to foreigners? The last time I was there was 2004 so things may have changed in the last 7 years! I plan to move there in the next few months. Any advice would be really great. Thanks.
Hi i'm a 23 year old nurse living in Brissie and I'm all on my lonesome. Looking for female travel companion to go Fraser Island, Byron Bay, Dreamworld, White Water World, Australia Zoo and if your interested I'm off to Sydney for Mardi Gras for a few days at beginning of March. And anywhere else we can think of. Unfortunetly Sydney is the furthest I am ale to travel due to funds and work. I'm all on my own and can only entertain (and talk to myself) for so long. So if there is a likeminded person out there we can go and explore together. Hayley
Just like to put a call out to any lone ex-pats who, like myself, bravely decided to make the move to the gold coast as a single person. If there is anyone who would like to meet, whether you've been here for a while or just a short time and need some support, dont hesitate to get in touch. I know how hard it can be to meet new people and start a new life completely from scratch. Cheers Linds
The Lone Ranger and Tonto are camping in the desert, set up their tent, and are asleep. Some hours later, The Lone Ranger wakes his faithful friend. "Tonto, look up at the sky and tell me what you see." Tonto replies "Me see millions of stars." “What does that tell you?" asks The Lone Ranger. Tonto ponders for a minute. "Astronomically speaking, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically, it tells me that Saturn is in Leo. Time wise, it appears to be approximately a quarter past three. Theologically, it's evidence the Lord is all powerful and we are small and insignificant. Meteorologically, it seems we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. What it tell you Kemo Sabi?" The Lone Ranger is silent for a moment, then speaks "Tonto you plonker, someone has stolen our tent!"
