How to find a sponsor in IT ?

Hi all, We are willing to relocate quickly to Melbourne with my wife. The easiest and quickest would be to get a sponsored skilled visa (457) as I have 13 years experience as a Software programmer in Java. Is there any web site where companies missing IT resources are posting sponsoring-ready job offers ? Thanks for your help, Damien (France)
  2. Dear PomsinOz'ites, As always, I thank this forum for answering a whole lot of questions related to my immigration. Now that I've got my PR, i would be grateful if some kind folks ( which All of you are-) enlighten me on the following: 1) Is it possible to get a Information Technology job or atleast a date for interview from abroad (I'm from India and have nearly 10 years of experience in a US based MNC in India). 2) I'm willing to travel to Australia on short notice to attend the interview if required. But will i get a call for for that if I apply from India? 3) Can i directly call up consultants and try to set up an interview from India? if any of you know any consultants, I'll be thankful. Thanking you

  4. Hi, I just read a thread in agents information named "Computing Professionals - ASCO-ANZSCO mapping" and first point mentioned is as following Applicants cannot change their nominated occupation; Computing Professional (NEC) in ASCO does not currently map to an ANZSCO occupation on Schedule 3. Does it mean that people who have got earlier assessed as 2231-79(Java in my case) will not be able to reapply to ACS for some other code say for example 261311,261312,261313 for analyst programmer, developer programmer and software engineer. If they do then does it mean rejection as nominated occupation is changed. Cheers Mands

    261313 OR 261313(Java)

Hi, I have applied for assessment again for 261313 and it is currently under process. Earlier I had positive assessment for 2231-79 (Java) which expired last year May. As Victoria and NSW State sponsership requires 261313 in Java so whether ACS gives 261313 with Java or only 261313. I applied online and there was no option to select specialization. Is there anyway one can go for 261313(Java) Kindly Suggest. Cheers Srini
  6. Hi, I was earlier assessed as 2271-79(Java) to get the MODL points. Though the responsibilities of these ANZSCO 261311/261312/261313/261399 are same and only heading is different for these occupations (only difference being design for 261313) So what you guys thing whta is a better fit for earlier 2231-79 whether 261313/261312/261311. Kindly note I am not looking at 261399 as I am looking for 175 in the new points system. Thanks Srini
  7. If there are any decent Java developers looking for contract work in Brisbane let me know. You must know your stuff and any knowledge or experience of agile would be beneficial. There's nothing in it for me, I'm just posting on behalf of a friend who is struggling to find people. PM me with your contact details if your interested and I'll put you in touch.
  8. Hi, Two weeks ago I received my 175 immigration visa and am keen to get work in Australia. What is the best/quickest way to get programming work in Australia (perm or contract)? I received the visa just after my last contract ended so am at home at the moment. in the UK, the IT market is really slow and flooded with retrenched IT workers. Is this the same in Australia? Is it better to just fly over to Australia and search on that side? Is the market dead there atm? Should I look from over here in the UK? or are my chances really slim from here? Help, honest advice needed. Regards Byron
  9. HI Andy, I don't suppose you have any roles for a Business Intelligence Cognos Dev? Regards, Matt:jiggy:
