Jack Vigden - Australias Got Talent

Last night on Australias Got Talent was this 14 year old boy, he was absolutely outstanding. It brought a tear to my eye, his mum must be very proud The comedy act had to go to Mat and his pole dancing (although he was blinkin good at it)

Ok it’s armed forces day on the 26th, time to show we all support the real hero’s of Britain, rather than the ones that pretend to do their best, let’s support the Men and Woman that put their lives on the line for us, and do their best day in and day out without the fan fare to make this country great Armed Forces Day | Honouring Britain's Armed Forces - Past, Present and Future. :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

    jack russell in oz

Hi All, Were hoping to move to Oz later on this year. Were taking our jack russell terrier with us. Has anyone taken a jack russell and how did it effect them. Has anyone got any comments or advice on Melbourne quarantine? Shes a very gentle dog whos used to lots of love and attention. Were thinking of sending her a month before we get there. My wifes parents live in oz although not in melbourne.
  8. This is a great story. Trafalgar Union Jack sets auction world record - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) Trafalgar Union Jack sets auction world record The only surviving Union Jack from the Battle of Trafalgar has sold at auction in London for nearly $700,000 after being found tucked away in a drawer in a Sydney home. The battle-scarred flag, which was flown from the mast of HMS Spartiate during the battle, was given to Lieutenant Clephan by his crew mates 204 years ago as a reward for his bravery during the fighting.
  9. thought all of those who are wondering whether to bring their dogs over would enjoy a lighthearted read about Eddie's first summer down under. We didn't originally bring her over with us and rehoused her with family but it just wasn't the same without her and felt mean living the outdoor life here whilst she was stuck back in the UK in the cold....so yep we bit the bullett and paid for her to come over, we were originally worried about the climate and the journey as she's getting on now. She arrived in April as we thought she would then be able to acclimatise during our winter and get her body prepared for the onslaught of the summer heat. To be honest she has had a new lease of life and we now wonder why we ever doubted she'd love it here. The flight and quarantine didn't seem to bother her one bit, think it bothered us more to be honest, we actually visited the once up in Perth and for the first couple of minutes she didn't even realise we were there and once she decided to recognise us she went crazy and yes it was hard to leave her for another week or so but she didn't seem to care she had plenty of lovely people to look after her. Since she's been here she has become a beach babe, she never 'got' the sea back at home and used to stay well away. But since living here she will literally drag you to the beach and runs straight into the sea (most probably to cool down lol). She has got much higher energy than she had back in the UK and lives in the garden during the day, which we didn't think she'd like, but she's happy and settled out there and the heat doesn't seem to bother her too much so we leave lots of frozen water and a bowl of water for her to make sure she doesn't dehydrate. Eddie is one happy dog and its great for us to see that we finally made the right decision in bringing her over. Reckon if we told her we were going back to the UK she'd insist on being re-housed here so she could still go to her favourite place in the world the beach. Not saying its for every dog as there are lots of costs and issues to consider but know how much stress we went through deciding what was best for her and glad that we changed our minds and brought her with us once we had settled ourselves and realised she'd love it here. So good luck to all those other fellow 'dog' migrants, you are going to so enjoy living here Sarah

    Sack the Jack!

My husband and i were watching a morning program on TV a few weeks ago (forget which one it was) and they were debating the union jack on the australian flag. It seems Australians are calling for a change of flag; the union jack deemed an embarassment to some Australians whilst others are fiercely proud of its history and want to keep it. Having asked my husband what he thought (he is australian born and bred) i was shocked to find that he wanted to keep the union jack! It has made me wonder where australians (or soon to be australians) stand on this topic as it has been going on now for several years. The inital proposal was that the 2000 Sydney Olympics would an ideal launch date for a new flag but the nation could not come to an agreement and hence the debate continues. To the brits here in Australia, does the union jack serve any purpose for you in that you feel more affiliated with australia because the union jack is on there and have a shared history? I myself feel excited for Australians if they were to decide to change it but as my husband quite rightly pointed out 'The flag IS Australian; we have made it our own' http://australianscreen.com.au/titles/backchat-episode-215/clip1/
