    Hi everybody :)

Hey everyone. Just signed up to the forum today and thought I'd introduce myself to you all. Currently a University student in my final-year and am hoping to move out to Australia with my Dad (either Perth or Adelaide) later this year or early next year depending upon finances, visa time etc. Also hoping to get out to Australia for about a month sometime in early November this year to have a good long visit and a grand tour as it were. Bar the obvious places we'd want to look (Opera house, Great Barrier reef, Uluru etc.) is there anywhere else you'd recommend we must visit whilst we are out there? Anyway, as I say, just a short intro and if you want to know anything more about me or my plans feel free to ask. Bye for now
  2. Hi, my name is Kristy, mother of 3, and business owner (sort of lol), i work as a photographer and artist, mainly in the wedding industry and baby photography... My art work already has started to sell world wide and i'm hoping in the next 4 years to generate a business i can run from Australia as well as working as a photographer there too... My dreams not short term and it's going to take some time to achieve, i'm hoping when the day comes i'll have everything in place and will feel confidant to take on what needs to be done and do it well. I'm hoping to make some new friends here, get some advise and just see how things all work in a sense with other people as well as my self. At the moment, my 1st aim is to make a strong income for myself, after all no point in migrating without it, would love to get in touch with any other photographers?

    Intro :)

Heya All, My name is Summer, I'm a 20yo from the UK and I have been in a de facto relationship with an Aussie for 16 months now :cute: We were planning for me to move over to Aus on a de facto visa, however he has had some personal problems and really needs support at the moment so I am going out a lot quicker than planned! Thankfully I have been saving so have around £3,500 under my belt for flights etc, I am going to Aus on a tourist visa and we will apply for a partner>de facto visa when I am out there. I had a complete panic attack over this but did see that I can have a bridging visa when my tourist one expires and still be there for him without coming home, massive relief! Just my short story, my tourist visa was granted today and I'm looking to fly out in about 2weeks time - talk about moving quickly! Looking forward to getting to know you all, hopefully when all this stressful moving stuff is done I will still be able to maintain a sane conversation with you :goofy: Hope you're all having a great day! - Summer

    Newbie intro

Partner and I are currently preparing our visa application to submit to IMMI. Already had a positive assessment from ACS, and waiting for a response from Vic for sponsorship. Aiming to move to Mornington Peninsula as partner is hoping to work in Melbourne, and my sister, brother in law, and my little niece live in the South of MP. So cross your fingers for us please! Hoping to learn from your experiences, and make new friends. :wubclub:

Hi everyone! I'd like to introduce myself - I'm Jen, I'm a teaching assistant and I'm married to Gary, who's a butcher. We have 3 girls; Shania (8), Kira (6) and Emily (5). We also have 2 dogs called Max and Raven. We are currently at the beginning of the visa process, so long way to go yet, but hopefully it will all be worth it once we get there. Look forward to chatting with you all.
  7. Hi everyone. I have been looking over the site for several hours to get the gist of what it's all about and I will definitely be a regular here so I may as well introduce my family. There's me, my husband Stuart and our 17yr old son Samuel. We are just getting serious about moving to Adelaide. My husband has wanted to move to Oz for many years and I have resisted due to family ties but my sister's husband has also wanted to live in Oz since forever and they have got their visas and will be leaving here in May to live in Victoria. I know that's still a distance from Adelaide but it's closer than UK and we already have several connections in Adelaide via the British Superbikes championships as we have sponsored a lot of upcoming Australian riders. I am getting my head around the whole thing now but I am worried about work. I have a law degree and passed the Legal Practice Course here but have not yet qualified as a solicitor. I may now have the opportunity to do this but have heard I would have to redo it in OZ. Does anyone know anything about getting qualified as a solicitor there? Other than that I would just like to say Hi and keep posting. It's all good!!!

    An old hand intro

Hello from Adelaide. We are the Tykes....Mrs Tyke,Little Tyke and myself. Some posters may know us from other forums We moved from Leeds ,West Yorkshire to Onkaparinga Hills,Adelaide in May 2000. Very settled now and a few years ago we became citizens - a very proud moment that put the final touch to our move here. For a living now we do a few things. All are run from home. Mrs Tyke has a gift basket business supplying some of the local car dealers and real estate agencies. I manage some properties and keep up with the maintenance and cleaning + I run a boutique olive grove on the land we live on :-) We also have a short term rental business that we are currently expanding. Socially we have a great bunch of friends and seem to have some very busy/boozy weekends.:biglaugh: I'll go and have a wander though the forum now...............

    Intro from an Aussie

G'day, Just joined this forum in the hope of learning of the experiences of other Brits moving to Oz. Not for me, I'm already an Aussie, but for my boyfriend. We're still trying to figure out the best way to tackle the problem but are looking at the Skilled Migration visa at this stage. It looks like it might be a tough way to go so it might not be the best option in the long run. I'll probably mostly lurk but I'm happy to answer any questions about Oz
