  1. Hi Everyone, We arrived last Monday being bought over by my husbands new company - All good as we have had our visas for 3 years now and were planning to make the move on our own next year. All a lot easier having the comapny organise everything. Had a bit of a nightmare as my youngest has been so ill since we arrived we've had her at the hospital with a gastro virus - not a great start. I have two other kids Jude who is 6 and Rio who is 3 - Kaia is 1. Keith starts work on Monday and I am just dreading it, I have friends on the Gold Coast but no-one around Brisbane, have to entertain the 3 kiddies with out going mental myself. Cannot get them into nursery or school until we have a permanent address and we are in an apartment in the city for the next 3 weeks !!! AAgghhhh! Limited toys, small apartment, no friends.. Help! So happy to be here and love it so far just would love someone to chat to and hang out with and some friends for the kiddies. We thought we were going to Melbourne until 4 days before we left UK, then hubbys company had a change of hear at the last minute (though Brisbane was our first choice!). I had actually made contact with few moms on Melbourne but have had no time to do any research or make any contacts in Brisbane at all. Think I may be feling a tad lonely next week:unsure: Please get in touch if you are up for a meet up - sure any mom can relate - cheers for now Faye x
  2. Hi Just wondered if anybody can help, I have tried numerous times to make enquiries about holiday rentals on Stayz.com but for some reason it won't let me submit any enquiries as it doesn't like my postcode.....I have tried UK postcode/Aus postcode but it won't accept anything so therefore I cannot enquire!!! Has anyone else had this prob, I'm sure it's something quite simple, just pulling my hair out as we need to get some accomodation booked..... Thanks guys:arghh:

    Is DIAC Insane?

Hi Everyone, I am facing a strange rather frustrating Situation. In response to my Previous PLE DIAC addressed email to some "Mr. Robinson". Later on when i raise query for clarification and ask for correction of name. I got the following response from DIAC that totally screwed me out. remember i neither used any agent nor authorized anyone for correspondence with DIAC except myself, Moreover, I have corresponding through the similar email that i have provided while lodging of my online application. can Someone suggest me some solution who to figure out this situation. ================================================== === Dear Mr **********************, Thank you for your email in relation to your visa application under Australia's General Skilled Migration program. 4. Hi All, I have been browsing this site for awhile and have responded to a few threads, but have never posted a thread myself. So here we go!!!! This site has been the greastest source of info for our family re: Life in Aus and planning to emigrate there:yes: It's addictive, informative and members make it great fun to read - We love it!!! Me and my other half have been offered posts in Canberra and hope to move there in Jan 09 with our two children (aged 5 & 12). We know alot has been written on this but we are really struggling to decide what we should ship with us to Aus - what items will we really need and what will be easily replaced over there???? And all the other stuff ie what area should we rent a place to live and finding good schools for our children!! We have been told good rental properties are scarce in Jan 09 and this is causing us some anxiety, however, we wanted to be in Aus in time for our children to start the new school term in Feb 09 or shortly afterwards. We have researched the internet, however, we are finding these decisions difficult to make without having yet been to Canberra. Hence, feeling excited, nevous & confused and somewhat insane:chatterbox: Any advice or fun comments to make this difficult ride more enjoyable are most welcome!!! Penny & Alan
  5. Hope everyone is OK. cOMUTER HAS BEEN UNDER A DUST SHEET FOR AGES AGAIN SO HAVEN'T BEEN POSTING. aPOLOGIES TO ALL IF i'VE MISSED A BIG MOMENT. tHE HOUSE IS MEANT TO BE GOING ON THE MARKET TOMORROW. We've worked our butts off so I hope all goes well. Like most people I have huge doubts about the sanity of what we are doing from time to time. Not to mention being totally broke now and completely exhausted. Have totally run out of bounce! and feel really fed up with it all! VoD:sad:
