  1. Hi we are looking at re-locating from Brisbane to Melbourne quite soon - but know many of the suburbs we like the sound of are very expensive for a young family. We really liked some of the hinterland small towns in Queensland on the Sunshine Coast (a few minutes inland from Noosa) as they have decent acreage, friendly communities but don't feel too hillbilly. Does anyone know if there are hinterland townships around the Melbourne region (also not too hillbilly) that are commutable to Melbourne and not too far from transport links - or is this a ridiculous question!!! any info gratefully received
  2. Hi If there is anyone living on the sunshine coast and more specifically, the hinterland can you tell me what is currently the fastest internet speeds you can get there (i realise that the NBN will eventually roll out there but that could be years away, if at all, in theory!). Thanks
  3. Soooooo i went for a cruise today and alittle walk through the rainforest to try burn some of the beer flab off, i also took my camcorder with me as i like to make random little vids for the rellies back home. So here's alittle edit of my footage, i played with the footage alittle, speed some bits up, made it grainy here and there and tried to dub a song over so it kind of fits in with the video. Yes i've got nothing better to do lol what do you reckon any good? could do a beach and coast one next? R50M3kHQf0k gawd i love this place

    Gold Coast Hinterland

Hi there, We currently live in the Noosa hinterlands on the Sunshine Coast in Eumundi and need to move for work and to be closer to QUT (for hubby's studying). There is just no work up here and we are struggling to pay the mortgage! My hubby is doing a recee in the next few days and we could really do with some advice on where he should look from those who are familiar with the areas. Our wish list is as follows; - Pretty older style hinterland village with small state school, library, post office, supermarket and a close community feel. Lots of greenery and mountain views. - Easy travel to the CBD and Gold Coast - 1 hour distance MAX. - Within 40 mins max to a nice quiet beach - 3 bed older style homes with 1/3 - 1 acre available at $450k MAX. This is just our ideal so we know we won't get everything we want but if gives you an idea of what we are after. Any help will be much appreciated!
  5. Hi to all those bike riders, if any one fancies to go for a bike ride in the hinterland.::cool::idea:

  8. Hi, I would love to meet up with some mums for a coffee and chat, I live in Landsborough (5 mins from Australia Zoo) so if you are in the Hinterland or on the Coast it would be great to hear from you. My husband and I moved out here almost 4 years ago from Kent and we have 2 boys aged 2 1/2 & 10 months. Jx

    Sunshine Coast Hinterland

Hello! Found this site while doing some research and thought I would ask for your help! We will be moving from Perth to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland next year and I would love to hear from anyone who lives in Maleny, Montville or Mapleton? I'm particularly interested in the schools in these areas and others experience of them - good or bad! Thanks!
