Rapid Visa - anyone heard of them??

Just had a look at their website - look like a very new company. Has anyone heard of them or have any feedback? RapidVisa | Fastest 457 Visa, ENS, & Business Sponsorship Applications
  2. Hi guys We are looking at appointing ASA as our agents to help with our 457 state sponsor visa. They have already been extremely helpful but one thing is concerning me and that is the cost - for them to process everything they have quoted approx £3,200. Could some of you who have done this with an agent, or are doing, please tell me if this sounds right or way too much!? :err: I would really appreciate any knowledge people have on the cost of everything, i know its not cheap but im jsut not sure if this is a good costing. Cheers guys

  7. What has happened to me? What has happened to my hair? Three young police officers came to my unit today and I thought 'they are SO young!' Careful, Dave, you are getting maudlin again and you no longer need alcohol to do it!
  8. Hi everyone, I heard a couple of things today which kinda made me laugh and was hoping to get some clarity from some Aussies on the forums, or anyone else for that matter! Someone said that you can't buy caffeine products after 5pm in Oz! That can't be true can it? I'm sure he was pulling my leg! :biglaugh::biglaugh: Also Fosters beer? You can't get that either? Or are they just saying that because the ads for it on tv here in the UK are Aussie themed?
  9. Hello everyone, I am moving to OZ mid october with my daughter (hubby is already there) and currently I am having removal companies giving me a quote. I saw 8 removal companies in total: PSS, Fox international, Excess International, Doree Bonner, Pickfords, White & Co, John Mason and Crown. I now had 7 quotes (just waiting for Doree next week) with Pickfords being the cheapest, followed by John Mason. I pretty much told Pickfords I will go with them but I also really liked John Mason and today they lowered their quote. They are still coming up £45 more expensive than Pickfords and I liked both sales men equally but prefer John Mason co-ordinator. When I called Pickfords today there was no answer twice and when I finally got through later in the afternoon the man I needed to speak to was on the phone and they said he would call me back. He did - about 45 mins later and sounding a tiny bit annoyed. Compare that to John Mason - they have been brilliant so far. Anyway, I have 2 questions - John mason or Pickfords??? I was so sure of Pickfords yesterday but not anymore today. My second question which refers to the title in this message - John Mason have advised the following: In recent months, Australian Quarantine Authorities have imposed decontamination charges to a number of containers arriving at their ports. These fees can range between Aus$ 350 and Aus$ 600 per container and they relate to the container itself, not to its contents. As an alternative a non refundable pre-pay option of £15 will be added to your invoice unless you advise us otherwise that you prefer to pay the charge (if levied) direct to Australian Authorities. None of the other salesmen I've seen have mentioned this and when I spoke to Pickfords they said they have never heard of it. Has anyone had any experience with this? Has anyones container been decontaminated and they had to pay the charge? Please help as I am lost now and can't make up my mind who to choose - Pickfords don't offer the decontamination insurance. Many thanks
  10. Hi All, Just wondering if anyone knows who I should email in ACS. I've waited the 12 weeks like it says on their website but my status is still the 4th stage In Progress when I check it online the last email I received was 21 March saying my saying my documents were received. Can I email that person back even though her name is different to the name that is listed as managed by when I check my status online? Also anyone think it's a good or bad sign that they haven't been in touch with me to request more information? Any suggestions appreciated! Thanks, Cara

    Just Heard

Hello to everyone in WA, as the title suggests we have just heard from Fremantle Hospital that my wife has been accepted for the graduate mental health program starting in august. Despite months of reading most of the posts on this marvellous site every aspect of planning our move has suddenly decided to go walkabout. Can some kind soul please tell me where we should live, send the boys to school (ages 17, 14,10 and 9) and every thing else I should really know. We have had two recce runs but they were both to Melbourne, I also spent 5 years there as the son of £25 poms before they decided to drag me back to the UK. Didn't even Know Perth existed. All advise will be gratefully accepted and probably forgotten in the mad panic of the next few months. Cheers Des

  21. Hi, Has anyone had ACT SS granted in the past month? They have not updated their website processing times since 8th April and still advising a Normal App is taking 30 working days. We have reached 30 working days (6 weeks) and i know another member has been waiting 9 weeks to date and still no news. Just wondering if anyone out there has had any luck lately and how long has it taken to come through? Cheers Claire
  22. To sign go to Migration changes and visa capping Preamble- Migration changes and visa capping Migration Amendment (Visa Capping) Bill 2010 Visa capping retrospectively a crime against humanity View where signers are geographically clustered via Google Maps Note: This legislation is about to be approved. Please sign and forward this to your friends all over the world. (You will have no repercussions by signing this even if you are temporary residents) If the minister were to cap and terminate the applications then applicants may only have 28 days to wind up their affairs and leave. Some of these applicants would have been in Australia for years and waiting for a decision after lodging valid applications for PR. They may have found good jobs and well settled in Australia. Some may have married and have children, purchased property etc; Visa capping retrospectively a crime against humanity (Visa capping retrospectively a crime against humanity - DLegal - Australian Solicitors and Migration Lawyers)
  23. Hi all We're eagerly awaiting our ACS skills assessment result. We applied online on 19th Feb and send the documents straight off, I think they emailed to say they'd received them about 2 weeks later. We're doing it alone and not through an agent. Was just wondering if anyone had had their result lately and how long they're taking? I know they say 12 weeks but it seems that some people have had them a lot quicker in the past... Just impatient  I was also wondering if the 12 weeks was from when we applied online or when the documents were received? We haven't gone RPL, just certificates etc. Status is still saying 'in process' If anyone has heard lately, would be great to hear from you.
  24. I'm guessing I'm not the only one but I've recently had a positive assessment under 2231-79 .NET Tech Specialist. Has anyone heard from the ACS as to what they intend to do about exisiting skills assessments under the old ASCO code. I emailed them last night but hear nothing back yet. Think I will ring them tonight when they start...I'm not expecting a decent answer from them though. I can't believe DIAC/ACS would just let people continue to have their skills assessed knowing that the old ASCO codes might be useless. I'll let you know when I know. Cheers

Anyone heard of the EDL ?

Rightly or wrongly its growing .......its a movement that has one agenda ....stopping muslim extremists . There is a march to oppose the building of an £18 million mosque in the black country on saturday ......there is a counter demo planned .....more violence i fear. I was talking to 2 off duty senior police officers the other day ,and they reckon the EDL is growing fast. The irony is .....the leader of the EDL is a sikh !!!!!!
