  1. Well it's now official. I have handed in my notice at work and although I feel that a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders I'm still very emotional. Very sad to leave as I've really grown attached to my colleagues . They were all quite shocked by the news (I've kept it all a secret for a very long time). They are very happy for me but sad that I'm going and that they will miss me which was very nice to hear. So now I'm answering endless questions about Oz and the immigration process and questions I don't even know the answer to myself, such as what work I'm going to do over there. Only 12 weeks till we fly now and so many things to do!!!:swoon: I hope everyone else is getting on okay who are sorting out/cleaning/packing/saying Farewell/flying. I'll be suprised if I don't get my first grey hairs from all the stress I'm feeling now! And to those who are still waiting for visas/occupation assessments/health checks etc Good luck, hopefully your wait will be over soon. Lots of love to all  Hev xxx
  2. Hi everyone!! Just thought I would share my experience handing in my application for defacto visa!! We went to Melbourne on Friday, arrived at about 10.30 am, spoke to a lovely lady who asked what visa I was applying for and gave us a ticket number... At about 11.30am we got called, the guy we saw was great, he explained everything to us, checked we had the right forms and that they were filled in etc... He also explained about the bridging visa (which I was worried about as my current visa expires today) and told me about working on my bridging visa and how effectively my WHV is reset so I can work for someone I have previously worked for!! He basically answered all of my questions before I even asked him and he was very positive, he said we had about the right amount of stuff (214 pages of it)... I know he isn't going to be the case officer but it was just nice for us that he was so positive!! He told us that the current processing time is nine months and we probably won't get a case officer until august/September soooo, now we wait!! It was the great handing it over, hopefully it will go well!! Hope this is of some use to someone...
  3. :jiggy:hey guys i was on the prospective marriage visa going to spouse visa 820 based on marriage . I went into immi office in perth this morning only intendeing to hand in my application(pushing it as my visa runs out next wednesday). and they told me i could pay now, so i joined the que, waited for bout ten mins, then went to a desk, the lady asked me for certain parication had a brief look and didn't look at all my evidence etc etc, then told me that was all and that she will try her best to prtrocess and finalise my visa as soon as she could!!! i coulnt beleve it thankyou soo much nice lady. yes i habe't officially got it yet but i know it's on it's way such a relief, and i spent all last night putting fininshing touches and stressing, so hadn't slept and now have to go to work haha. she has put me on auto bridging visa from today til she does my visa. good luck to all out there!!!!!! : )
  4. 15 years as a Fire Fighter and just handed my notice in giving 4 weeks.. It seems strange that after so long, basically a scrap of paper with my resignation on it ends it all... No thanks or kiss my arse or anything... In life you are just a number so make the most of it and enjoy everybit of it, including the challenges... Im sure a few of them are heading my way.. Loved the job, loved the lads, love the people of the communities but felt that there is more to life for me... I dont know if Australia will be that more! but nothing ventured nothing gained! Bring on the next exciting chapter.. Chris x (5 Weeks... Whoo hoo)
