Hi can anyone give any advise on primary schools in or around the Halls Head area. We are moving to Halls Head in January 2011. We have a 7 year old boy. I'm not the best on the internet, but i'm finding it impossible to get an email address for any schools. I would like a good sized school for him, preferably with a 60 children intake or more. Can anyone give any info on any of the local schools, or has anyone got a good link. What are the waiting listd like? Is it realistic to think that he could start school in Feb? Thanks Zoe x

Hi all, Very new to the forum, Looking to move out next year (once visa eventually approved) and would like to live near Mandurah. We visited in April and stayed in Secret Harbour and loved it as we have 2 boys who love to golf and swim. Tried to find out info about schools which will help us to decide where to live. Boys will be 9 and 11 when we move and we would want to send to state school. All info that we have got so far suggest's High School in Secret Harbour is not to good and it is now confusing us. We are now thinking about Seascapes in Halls Head does anyone have any helpful comments. cheers louisa

Hi All, wondering if anybody could help or advise... We are arriving in Perth on the 30th Aug, have secured a holiday rental for two weeks but then we need a permanent one. We are looking for a 4bed house, would not mind if it's not brand new as outside space is more essential to us. Looking to pay around $350 p/w...Close to schools, shops etc.... Excellent references can be provided too. Anyone breaking a lease maybe? Thanks a lot

Just trying to figure out a new routine for kiddies, we have schools sorted, but as my four year old now goes kindy I am trying to fill the other days with fun activities. I would be grateful if anyone can reccomend a couple of local playgroups which i could try out for my younger two. Also if there is anyone in similar situation who would like to meet up, who also have young children, that would be great to meet new people. many thanks stacy

As the title says, I'm in Halls Ggap about to set off in the morning to adelaide. Trouble is I did no planning about routes thought I'd just go on a tomtom adventure. put the address in tonight and I got a new warning - do I want to avoid unpaved roads does this mean you need a landy to get through or is the tomtom trying to cosset me? Gonna try and build up the balls to hit don't avoid in the morning, but I probably will pussy out of it. Kind of made me realise I ain't in kansas (or lincoln) anymore. Yay for foreign adventure!!!!

I cannot believe in all our time here we only found this gem yesterday. We decided to have a day off work (believe me it doesn't happen often as I am sure a lot of the PIO members on here will tell you) and head off for a days drive, we had no idea where we were heading but we needed to escape for a few hours. We ended up at Halls Gap at 2pm, wow what a beautiful area, I really wish we had put on our walking boots as there were lots of wonderful trails you could take. We walked across the Bellfield Lake and drove up to Mt William (unfortunately we didn't climb to the summit as we weren't really equipped). The time flew and it was soon 6.30pm, I managed to convince the OH to stay for the night, however most of the accommodation was fully booked. We headed for the Big 4, the owners were lovely but again we were told there was no vacancies, I told them not to worry we would just drive back, but then they said they had one 2 bed available but they don't usually allow children in but on this occasion they would make allowances. It was a wonderful place to stay and I would highly recommend it and would definitely return (well with a bit more planning to include the essentials at least). Once we had booked in we headed off back in to Halls Gap and had dinner, there were kangaroos everywhere, even near the outdoor swimming pool and children play area. I totally lost count of how many were around and they were all so tame. We then decided to have one quick drive to another lookout before bed. It was amazing and the views were stunning. Unfortunately it had started to rain so the photos didn't come out at all. I just wish we had found this place earlier but never mind as we will definitely be back again.

Hi everyone, So, we arrive in WA at the end of April and will be staying in Halls Creek to start off with as my partner's parent is there. Have done limited research on the net about the place, but there doesn't seem to be much in the way of positive information. Any help from someone who lives or has lived there , or even visited there would be great. Any information at all, good or bad regarding anything. Cheers, Keith

Close to schools and a lovely park and the beach. $300.00 per week. I can email photos if anyone is interested. Thanks, Becky

Arrived 2 weeks ago, staying in Port Kennedy. Was not sure of the area when we arrived, felt very isolated. Travelled North of the river, where everything seems a lot busier and more expensive, to be near the ocean. Have now looked further South and really like the look of Halls Head. Really close to Mandurah (which is lovely) and get a lot more for your money. Is there anyone on here who can give us some info on the area. What are the schools like? Any advise would be appreciated Emma
