  1. I think he is ............. the nicest guy on PIO. Bobj mate take a bow :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy: He is funny, supportive, helpful, loves Australia, a Yorkshireman and is only blemish is .............. he smells of fish, but apart from that he is a perfect gentleman. Anyone agree?
  2. My family are still not mentioning our move much despite it being 3 weeks away. When my mum does mention it she's awkward and short with me and I've had enough! Its stressful enough moving an entire family to oz! Is anyone else getting major grief off their parents? I feel as though my mum would be happier if I told her I'd got life in prison for murder!
  3. Hi all, I'm currently considering a FIFO in WA. Having never worked FIFO before I'd really appreciate it if some of you could share your experiences. The rota is 3 on 1 off. I'm a married guy, late 20s no kids. How do the wives cope? Do any of them live near to the mines? Thanks in advance.

  6. Hi All, I am currently starting to research the move back to the UK. Any advice or information would be great, because I do not know where to start!! My Partner is Aussie, so i was wondering what we will have to do in terms of a visa for him- ( we will have lived together for 2.5 years by the time we return) Also with international moving, is it worth moving furniture or cost wise is it better off to get rid and start again in the UK? How do we go about Job Applications? we are not looking to move back until early 2012 as he is finishing his CA, but im sure it will come around quickly. I do love sydney but with his family being here we will always be coming back for visits! ...I hope! thanks for any advice
  7. Hi all, Just wanted to say hi as i will, no doubt, be looking for advice from a few of you in the near future. I've applied to the ACS for certification and am now trying to gather all the documents required for the SS for ACT. Doing my research for the cost of living in Canberra at the moment, so as you can imagine, a bit confused :err: Anyway, i just wanted to say hi, Harry.

    New guy

Hi there Just joined this forum and I'm enjoying what I've read so far, some helpful ideas, but I have a question I need answering if possible, how much of Australia could you feasibly cover in the school holidays in a campervan. We are thinking of going next July/ August?
  9. Hi everyone, my name is Ben and i am new to this forum. I am hoping to get some advice and infomation regarding moving to and working in Australia. I am 24 and am currently studying for my HNC in Civil Engineering (day release), I have roughy 5 years experience in the Civil Engineering industry. Would anybody be able to tell me if a HNC in this subject is a suitable qualification to be granted a visa to work in Australia? I apologise if this doesn't make any sense. I am in the beginning stages of looking in to emigrating and any infomation or advice would be great. Thanks Ben
  10. Hi, Yes I'm a ring-in and an Aussie, sorry about that, hope you don't hold that against me. :cute: Recently moved back to Cairns after a bit of a stint down south (Townsville & Melbourne) and I'm hoping to meet a nice English girl. I love an English accent but more than that I really enjoy the company, different outlook & friendly nature of someone from the UK seems to have over our Aussie girls. Short of moving to the UK (maybe one day), I thought this might be a good alternative. If you're interested in catching up please feel free to drop me a line. Shane
  11. Hi everyone, My name is Gino, i'm 24, and i'm in Sydney since 2 months. My main purpose here is to learn english but, unfortunately, i didn't meet lots of foreign people to practise. (Too many French!) If someone doesn't be fed up to French and would like both to make relationship and to learn french, let me know... Thank you in advance. See you soon. Gino.
  12. Hey all, A friend told me to try this place out and see if could make some friends and possibly even meet up with people, for when i arrive in Oz. I just received word that I passed my practical assessment for my Skilled Visa, I am just waiting to hear back about my IELTS exam. If all things work out, I shall be flying out in january 2010. If anyone (especially any single ladies) fancies getting to know a single 31 guy from Manchester, then please do not hesitate to contact me. Thanks for reading my message and look forward to getting to know you, Cheers Matt:smile:

Hello Everyone! Just joined the forum - in the middle of our Skilled Sponsored Visa Application 176! Moving a bit faster now! Hubby's job is taking us to Canberra, ACT! I've heard mixed reports, but we've researched it and are happy that it will suit our family life, as we've got two boys aged 3 and 11. I have lots of questions, so hope to chat with you all in the forum!:chatterbox:

  16. Hi you lot, hope someone can help been into travel agents to give dates i am trying to price up for going for holiday to validate visa (oct 22-nov 6) both very expensive, even tried on line with loads of different people........ there are 5 of us 3 adults 2 children would like to stop in hotel but have problem as only want one room, so looks like just booking flights then finding a appartment or holiday home separate, as soon as get off the plane to go straight there and put feet up lol........................ I have googled cheap flights and tried most of them, would it be cheaper to ring the airlines up first, i am stressing out as only planned on one way ticket but changing EA in 2 weeks again and dropping a bit more in hoping that it does sell in time, as its money we dont have at the mo................. so if you lot find any links would be greatful thanks in advance, going to school disco now will let off some steam and show the kids how to dance :biglaugh: julie :wubclub:
