  1. They are asking the local people where the cuts should be made, Chief Constable Peter Fahey has arranged meetings at town halls across 10 Greater Manchester authorities, to find ways forward on where to make the cuts. Greater Manchester Police cuts Reckless cuts to our local police go way beyond what is necessary and will put the safety of communities at risk. Almost a quarter of all posts at Greater Manchester Police are being cut and these will lead to a loss of up to 1,500 police officer posts, and 1,400 civilian jobs. Chief Constable Peter Fahy has been put in an impossible position and has acknowledged that the cuts are “huge” and that Greater Manchester police will have to make “very difficult decisions about the service to the public”. With one in five people losing their job it is hard to see how frontline services will not be affected. My son wants to become a police Officer ............ theres not much chance of that happening in the next few years.
  2. Why is it that things have gone so wrong, i remember being a youngster playing ouside all weekend with out a parent in sight. It seems these days you do anything with out a consequence. Why are we so tolerant to criminals that cause harm to children or woman, why are we not removing this element from society and bringing back capital punishment and getting society back to how is used to be. In my opinion you start giving these people punishement to suit there crime and it will start going down the line to our youngsters. Ive seen so many young people get away with crime, hitting elderly, hitting the police. WHY ARE WE PUTTING UP WITH IT. Why cant someone with balls in the government start things rolling.:arghh:

I work away for upto 19days at a time so price is pretty important as i will be paying rent when i'm not there! I would like somewhere young and livelyt with pleanty of places to eat/ drink near by. Also somewhere where there is some nice out door areas for running etc.. somewhere near a beach maybe.... I love it down the gold coast, but I recon it would be pretty dear to rent there? any suggestions welcome... Cheers Mike
  4. Just thought i would spin a thread to see if we are the only ones trying to get to & moved to Oz from our area, with our luck we are on our own as normal:unsure: Even if your in the Greater Manchester area I suppose you will do Ha Ha!!
  5. There seem's to be quite a few pio's wanabe's in and around Manchester, heywood, bury etc etc ( wont say greater as cant think whats great about the place). Do any of you fancy starting a monthly meeting, for drinks and generall chat somewhere where kids will be welcome. Any favorite or recomended venues? We are luckier than most as wife born in oz so we dont have the usual visa dillema's, But would love to meet likeminded people and maybe develop friendship that can carry over to oz when we all get there. Let me now and if there is enough interest we will arrange something.
