    More on the job front

Loving the audio engineering/event production job I landed. I'm working at Palm Beach tomorrow all day right on the beach. Can't complain about getting to be on the beach and listen to music all day....and get paid for it! I put in a CV to Qantas for a position and heard back that they were very interested in me but thought the position I applied for was a bit beneath what I could do for them. Told me they would hold my CV until something opened that would be appropriate. Things are looking good here! Loving everything about being in Australia!
  2. Hi everyone, Please let me have your views on my situation. I need some advice about front-end-loading medicals. 1) I am working in Australia on 457 visa. And I am about to apply for 176 (got NSW sponsorship). Can I front-end-load my medicals+PCC ? This link appears to say I can - http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/health-requirements/arranging-health-exam.htm Also, I am from a High Risk country. I am not sure if that has any bearing on the process - the link has nothing on that. 2) Do I just need to book a medical appointment with Medibank and put the booking reference number in 176 application ? And then wait for the CO go-ahead to proceed with the medicals ? That's what another pomsinoz discussion seems to be indicating - http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/91625-diac-not-processing-group3-order-date-received-5.html A bit longish one - but I hope it would of use to others too.
  3. I have just confirmed quarantine for my four for later this month and saw on their website that from the beginning of Feb the fees will have to be paid upfront at the time of applying for the import permits. That will make the process that but harder to manage financially, I've at least been able to pay for my lot in stages with quarantine being the final thank god. Good luck to all that are going, this time two weeks my furries will be there
  4. Hey Guys, wondering if anyone can shed any light. I've noticed over the past few months that there are loads of Front end web designer/developer jobs in Sydney. How is it that these occupations (ASCO category System Designer 2231-13) aren't on the CSL? My ACS results letter is currently on it's way under Systems Designer 2231-31 (fingers crossed) and I was wondering if this occupation would be listed on the new list as there appears to be a high demand particularly in Sydney. Any ideas??

Front loading ENS Visa with meds

Has anyone had their meds done before being assigned a CO? We submitted our application today 29/06/11. Police checks have been included for UK and the Oz ones are being processed. We have made appointments for meds on 19/07/11. Processing centre did not say no to us having meds done, just advised that its up to us because the costs paid upfront would be wasted if the application is unsuccessful but did say it would quicken things up by a month if they were already done. Any advice?
  7. Hiya, we're applying for a spouse visa for my hubby and I have recently found out am pregnant (very, very early days yet). I'm desperate to have the baby in Australia (due Dec) and so we're frantically trying to get the visa in. Would it be advisable to front load the application as we're on such a tight timeframe? Or does it not really matter? Secondly, I can't find the information as to how to get the medical/police checks, could some angel please help me? Also, does the police checks take the estimated 45 days really? Thanks a mill xxx

    front loading medicals

hi, my husband has Polycystic kidney disease and we are worried he wont pass the medical. We have decided he should do his medical (we will be migrating on a 121) just now. Is this possible????the visa application cant be started until he gains registration from AHPRA (nurse). I have read loads of horror stories concerning AHPRA and how long it all takes. We dont want to wait that long and be worried and just not knowing. Also dont want all the cost of AHPRA and translating doc. (german-english), Notary etc...... when we might not need them. So, is it possible to do the meds. just now???? What meds does he need, as I said he will be permanent and working as a nurse. thanks in advance for all your help. sharon.xx
  10. Hey All, We are in the process of putting together our 175 VISA application. We are going with an Australian Migration Agent that comes very highly recommended and has a 98.9% success rate. The agent has suggested front loading our application, with meds and character references etc all ready to go with the application. She said in her experience as an agent this often gets things moving quicker. However she did say that in doing so you put yourself at risk of only having a short amount of time to pack up your life here and get over to Australia to get your VISA stamped. You may say there is the easy solution of flying out there, getting VISA stamped and then coming back to England to sort things out (as you have 5 years to go once the VISA is stamped). However we have a small baby who will be 1 when we do this and i don't think that it is fair to make her do 4 plane journeys. What we didn't ask was if our VISA was granted and we had say only 6 weeks to validate our VISA, could we pay for our medicals to be done again and send them off for approval? £700 works out cheaper than paying 3 airfares 4 ways. Your opinions are very welcome!!! Thanks Carlie, Dan and Helena

    medicals up front paying?

Hi all wondered if anyone could give me info on medicals, rang today to find out about booking our meds, knew would be around £1000 mark for family or 4. They said that when you book you need to pay at the same time, i was quite shocked as thought that prob left deposit and paid rest when had them done. This is at the brentwood centre as we are in essex, is this the same for all medical centers? or do some just take depositi? just was hoping could maybe try and save the money before we go as booking for 8 weeks time as need to lose a bit of timber first like you do, we are going on strict diets and excerice . |any infor would be good thanks :jiggy:
  12. Hi, I was told by many Cat3 applicants that they received a letter from DIAC indicating a CO will be assigned for them in the next 3 months, urging them to get PCC + health checks done (they got this letter around March 18th) - however, I did not get such a letter. Anyone may have an idea why? Do you think I should also get prepared?
  13. OK so this will be my third post in as many days but this site seems to give the right answers quicker than I can find them on the DAIC website! So this Front Loading, what is and is it worth doing? Does it mean getting our medicals and police checks done now whilst waiting for the TRA assessment to come through even though we haven't as yet got SS WA approval? I work in the Health Care profession and have an enhanced CRB recently done from February 2011, is this acceptable or like in the UK has it got to be specific to the company/department requesting it? Also how long are the medical results and police checks valid for? We're trying to be positive and work to the following: TRA submitted 21/03/11 hopefully back no later than 20/05/11. SS WA submit 21/05/11 approved 21/06/11 (OH job is on Top Priority WA SOL) 176 visa submit 28/06/11 to beat the 01/07/11 SOL change. So I know thats all extremely optimistic however the thought of being here any longer is a bit depressing so trying to think positive thoughts and hope somebody smiles on us and for a nice change things go sort of to plan!:daydreaming: maybe!
  14. Hi all, I have been offered a job in Sydney so plan to migrate with my family. For background, wife and 3 children are all registered Aus citizen's with dual-passports (UK-AUS). We have been resident in the UK for 12 years. We have had 10 years of married, but inclement, bliss. Job offer is flexible about start dates as long as it is before July 10. I have 3 months notice to work so would like to get cracking on the visa. I will make a subclass 100/309 application. I have (maybe foolishly) set-up radiological and medical exam appointments (this week and next week). I say foolishly as we are probably a few weeks away from being in a position to submit the visa application - is it a problem that the meds are being done before the visa app is submitted (other than expiry dates on the visa being set by the dates of the exam)? What happens to the examine reports and are there any pitfalls about 'front loading'? Can I check that it is Form 26 I take the med exam (they couldn't tell us on the phone). The radiological folk told us Form 160 for their report. Does anyone have experience of being granted a permanent visa (100) straight away? Many thanks for any help, Fleabo
  15. Hi, Iam new to this forum. I like to know what are the documents or process can be carried before filing the 856 visa. As I complete two years by this June being on 457 working in IT. 1. Police clearance certificate - US,AUSTRALIA,INDIA (Is the PCC require validity of one year before filing the application as got a PCC date May 2010 but never went put of Australia) 2. Medical checkup ( Can we front load this as well as I need to do for my 4 month old child) - Is it advisable to expose them to chest xray now (may have to do the medical checkup for 457 visa extension as it expires by June as well) 3. If the application is once applied can we go out of Australia and come back as looks like I might have to visit home country after the application what are the cons of going out of Australia for a month after the application of 856 I appreciate if you have details on the above question
  16. Hi Guy Wondering if anyone is able to help with something The recent news that DIAC are asking a certain category of applications t front-end load their medicals and PCCs etc is great news, and we have a 175 lodged in Dec 2009, so are lucky enough to fall into the category for front-end loading meds, PCCs etc. However,we have an agent who is still suggesting that we don't do it! Is anyone else using an agent that advising against front-end loading? She says it could all change again in a few months and we may be stuck with out of date meds this time next year - that doesnt seem to be the vibe I'm getting from the information being released from DIAC. Why would a well-respected agent such as George Lombard publicise an article is agents are still advising against it! Surely by now they want to crack on as much as possible and clear the backlog for their own sake, as much as anyone elses Any feedback would be great! Hmmmm confused!

i know im probably stupid asking this question but what does it mean? thanks
  18. Hi All, I am new to the site so bare with me and my babbling! Me and my family were hoping to emigrate to Australia in the next 12 months but I'm having difficulties deciding whether I would fit into any of the categories on the jobs wanted database. I have been working as a housing scheme officer/project worker with ex-offenders, homeless and addicts for the last 8 years through an agency and currently do not hold any formal qualifications as my line of work doesn't really offer any degree's etc in this sector. I was wondering whether on not I could still attempt to put through a visa based on work experience rather than qualifications or whether at nearly 30 I'd need to go back to university!! My partner has worked as a factory worker for the last 12 years and unfortunatly again no qualifications. Any advice would be great. Hayley

  20. Hi all, I'm putting together my prospective marriage visa 300 at the moment and keep reading about "front loading" the medicals and police checks. I'm applying from Dublin through London, do they require a medical and police checks up front or will they request only if need. Thanks!

    Front load medicals for 457

I'd really like to make my visa process as fast as possible by front loading my 457 application with my medicals. I'm going into healthcare and will definitely require them. The question is can I do this? What happens if I want them done electronically? The DIAC don't even know I exist yet so can they even receive my results or will they just get lost? Thanks in advance for any replies!

    457 front loading ???

Hi people, I am in the process of a 457 Visa just now. The sponsorship has been approved  and I have just spoken to my employer who thinks that after sending some further info the nomination should be all good for this week. I have heard of people "frontloading" to speed the visa application ... what exactly does this involve and how do I go about it ? Should I get my meds and Police check now ? Thanks in advance, Graeme

  25. Hi all, Can anyone tell me the process to front load the medicals at the time of lodging the file for residency, as I know we need to take a reference number from HSA now called as Medibank. But is it advisable to go for the medicals even before the case officer is assigned to you? As I have seen many people quoting that they have front loaded the medicals. So was just curious to know the process. Any thoughts on this would be well appreciated. Thanks Cheers Adi
