2021: The Outlook for the New Year in Currency
Susan from Moneycorp posted a topic in Money & Finance
Good afternoon everyone ~ and a Happy 2021 to anyone I haven't spoken to already! I hope this year (& beyond) you'll be blessed with good health, good fortune and the continued support of good friends and family. Rather than reflect on the year that was - our Global Economists thought they'd take a look at what's coming up in the year ahead ~ hopefully a lot more positive than delving into the past! Here's what we're thinking for 2021: https://www.moneycorp.com/en-au/news-hub/the-future-of-currencies-in-2021/ -

Thought I would get in first.:cute: A BITTERLY cold winter and prolonged snowfall may hit Wales for the third year in a row, forecasters warned yesterday. Welsh forecasters are suggesting long-term heavy snowfall could wreak havoc again across the country, especially in January and February. The past two winters have been especially cold in the UK, as high pressure systems settled over northern Europe, preventing warmer air currents crossing in from the Atlantic. December last year was the coldest in the UK for about 100 years – and Cardiff saw its heaviest snowfall for 30 years. The governments own financial expert on the economy has forecast another downgrade in the uk's economic growth, he has told the government that the savage austerity cuts aren't working and it is now time for ........... Plan B. The government have told him that there is no plan B and just where does this leave the uk? The future isn't looking good at present and i ask this question to all those who are migrating, or thinking about migrating ONLY:wink: How much of a factor is this playing in your decision to emigrate to Australia?

This brill weather is just going on anad on, 2 moths of great weather and records being broken. Will we suffer for it though in June July:eek: Britain remains on course for the hottest April since records began, as the warm weather continues over the Easter weekend. Hundreds of thousands of sun-seekers flocked to the nation's beaches and parks yesterday with temperatures above 26C in parts of the south-east. http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2011/apr/24/hottest-april-ever

I know we are approaching cyclone season, but it looks like we may have a bad summer this year in Queensland. Six cyclones for summer | QLD News | Breaking News in Queensland | Central Queensland News Apparently Gladstone rarely has them as we are protected by Mount Larcom in the north and the islands out at sea. The last time the city was hit in 1949 all the churches were demolished (but all the pubs were left standing!!!) Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum I think we will be heading to Bunnings for one of those survival tubs. This is truly a harsh and wonderful land. D'you know what?? We left UK in December and all we heard was "this is the coldest, whitest winter in 30 years" or whatever. We arrived in Central Queensland and heard "this is the wettest summer in 20 years" and tour busses were going to the dam to see the highest ever water level. Now we are having the "wettest October" in I don't know how many years. I think it might be us.....

Hi All I've just seen the weather forecasts for SE England from this arvo through to Monday. One of them predicts -6C overnight on Saturday night. God knows whether my car engine will stand up to that. There is plenty of anti-freeze in it but the car lives outside and I can't recall such a low forecast for this area before. The Northerly wind is the pain with this weather system and I can't protect the car from it short of draping a rug over the bonnet when I don't know whether that does any good? So much for trying to be economical with the central heating. I am not prepared to contemplate freezing to death. Apparently it will rain on Monday and will be much warmer, albeit wet. I don't mind wet! I really like rain! I do not like snow, which is forecast for tonight. I'm off to dig out my rugs - thermals etc. Cheers Gill

For the sunshine coast area of queensland. Must admit i'm a bit of a storm freak and i like to track where they're heading and where they're predicted to head. I found the Australian Weather Watch Radar Network where you can log onto live weather radars and track current conditions. But i can't find anywhere with any detailed forecasts, the best they usually say is chance of a storm?
