Hello! I've played in the Wednesday Night Elwood League (venue at Elwood College, Glen Huntly Road) for about a year and we have a core team but due to injuries and people heading home etc. we have lost some players and need some reliable people to become part of our team.We all play for a bit of fun, exercise and comradeship. It’s a very honest, supportive and positive team so if it sounds like something you’d like to commit to, then message back and we’ll sort out details etc. Cheers!Ian

Football (Soccer) Players Wanted Nerang Eagles (Gold Coast Area)
stamford1985 posted a topic in Queensland
Hello all! My football (soccer) club is looking for players for its senior first team, reserves (playing on Saturdays) and social sides (playing Sundays and mid-week evenings). The team is Nerang Eagles and is ideally situated at the Northern end of the Gold Coast and is easily accessible from surrounding suburbs and the motorway. The pitch address is: Glennon Park, Nerang. It has great facilities and is a well ran club, who look after all of its players. Family orientated, with good junior base as well. We're a great club for getting to know people and there are a LOT of ex-pats, probably because of our great location and the great atmosphere we have. We have spots to fit most standards so if you're keen for a kick around then Join us for some of our pre-season training sessions. Training is Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 630pm and is on NOW!!! Cheers!- 2 replies

Girls Football - Has anybody had experience of the quality
pommiegranite posted a topic in Kids Down Under
Hi We are looking to move to either the Southern Gold Coast or Sydney next year on a 457 visa. My daughter is currently 13 and plays for Manchester City Football Club and for Greater Manchester. Has anybody got experience or know of anybody who was playing at a high level in the Uk and has experienced the quality of the football in Australia? We have spoken to a couple of teams/coaches in both areas who feel that the quality is of a high/comparable standard but she is still worried. If there are any girls who are currently playing football in Australia it would be good to hear from them Thanks- 4 replies

Hi all, I just moved to Oz, specifically Wollongong, 2 weeks ago. As I'm now in a minority group (pom) I feel far more obliged to support our team in Brazil. If there any brits in Wollongong who would like to watch the game in town this coming Sunday morning, please let me know as I'm eager to get out and cheer our team on. Cheers, Alex -

Swinburne Football Club consists of two men's teams (Seniors and Reserves) and one women's team. The men compete in the Amateur Soccer Federation of Victoria (called VicSoccer) and play in Premier League on a Sunday Afternoon. The women compete in the Football Federation of Victoria (FFV) and play in the South East Metropolitan League. The club is affiliated with Swinburne university however most its members are non students. We have a broad mixture of cultures and nationalities who play for us. The commitee also endorse a social culture where all teams regularly attend social gatherings (organised via facebook and twitter) After 4 very succesful years - our first team coach has stepped down. We are looking to appoint an experienced 1st team coach who will lead a change of culture and drive the club to further success. During the season, training sessions are held on a Tuesday and Thursday evening. Salary expectations will be discussed during the interview stage. Pre-season training commences in late January but many of the lads have commenced their own training schedules to prepare. The committee would ideally like to appoint someone before formal training commences. As an expat (and committee member) myself, it would be a breath of fresh air to appoint an experienced expat coach looking to join a very friendly and success-hungry club. For more details or to apply for the role. Please PM me.

Coming to Perth? Talented Football players wanted for 2009 season
Guest posted a topic in Western Australia
Ballajura AFC is a football (soccer) club based at Kingfisher Reserve in Ballajura, (in Perths northern suburbs), where it has its own clubroom, full bar and catering facilities. Established 15 years ago the club has a strong set up with several hundred juniors (up to under 16 level), a masters team , ladies team and a Senior team who have just been promoted to Amateur Division 1 for 2009. Also in 2008, the Senior reserves won their League and the under 16 team were top 4 champions. The club is ambitious and is targeting further success and promotion to the Amateur Premier League. In order to support this objective and to take the club forward Ballajura is conducting an active player recruitment drive before the 2009 season starts in late March. The club is seeking to recruit experienced senior amateur or ex semi pro players for addition to the first team squad. Ballajura is an ambitious and forward thinking club. We have already recruited a number of new migrant players last season who helped in the clubs successful promotion to division 1 If you feel you fit the requirements and are interested in taking on this challenge please contact me to discuss. In Dubai couldnt get enough, football (soccer), tennis, basketball, touch, etc etc wondering if any others in need...getting to a level of desperate as the gym is getting boring. Calling any sports teams or individuals who need a sporting fit competitor and growth of a social life. james

Me and a friend moved over to Melbourne from Liverpool last year... We have been dying for a game of footy but not keen on paying over inflated prices to join pretty professional clubs. We ave set up a group with the aim to get a fairly regular gang of people together on a saturday morning for a casual game of footy and maybe some beers afterwards. The idea is to 'scratch the itch' for a game of footy and also meet some new people. First game is going to be this Saturday 9th Feb at 10a in Fawkner Park. Anyone welcome and it's free of charge. Bring anyone along as well. Aussie, English... Whatever! See you there!!

Anyone fancy getting involved in 5-a-side football in Melbourne? I'm looking at setting up a team or maybe even 2 teams that can play each other. Whatever. It's a good way of getting to meet others so get your Adidas Sambas out and get in touch. Open to all abilities, I play in goal cos I'm ****e anywhere else. I know there's an indoor court in Carlton but I'm sure there's loads across the city. Hope to hear from you soon, John
